You guys should rethink not selling this because its starting to run better

Actually, player numbers (and thus, potential credit buyer numbers) have gone up since the move to F2P according to the developers, so there are plenty of fish in that sea. This means there are also plenty of potential BW subscribers.

Yea, I was being sarcastic.

Since they went F2P, they added (or are comming out with) a paid expansion. 20 bucks if you dont subscribe, 10 if you do. Also, there is another content update that is soon to be released. AND DONT LEAVE OUT the afformention GBLT planet that is in development. Why would any company lean towards one group in terms of production if the group was not associated with said product?

Not to mention, credit sales are better than they were about 4 months ago...just saying.

all you have to do is check the asain gold seling websites, and you will see certain servers going up in price for creds.

So there is no way to purchase this bot any-more? I wanted to try it out just today and find out it has been taken down :(

Save the money Infernity, this bot will not do much for you besides give you headakes

It runs grind profiles like a dream. It also runs in virtual machines. Nothing else available that I've seen comes even close - but if you've found something comparable, I'd love to hear about it.

i hope the fact that they have not replied to the idea of going to a monthly subscription model means that they are considering it.

I support the idea of a monthly plan as well. Makes sense since you guys will provide support for the bot till January 2014 anyway. I would like to try some grinding profiles since i am thinking of botting SWTOR again (F2P is a good deal to bot to 50 without fear of getting banned). Provided a high uptime of course ...

Reconsider?

Doh! Same situation. Finally got around to playing SWTOR. Got disgusted with the leveling time after the first toon. Came back to Bossland for BuddyWing only to find it gone. Figured it would be well developed and stable by now. Would gladly pay you for another quality product!

You are not serios are you?
This bot actually runs on one of my pc's that is 8 years old lol.
If it doesnt work for you, you are doing something wrong.

Aside from that, the player base is growing, if this was my company, i would be selling regardless, from what i gather, the only thing the company has to do, is update after a patch, so staff wise, they only need 1 person on it for a few hrs once a week.
Again you are loosing money when you shouldnt have to.
If people complain that its not working correctly, again all you need is 1 person who knows the bot , to be a full time help service. Because its not the bot thats broken, its peoples ability to not think and want there hand held. And i am sure you could find plenty of people willing to be a help desk, lol i would even do it, considering i am on my pc when i am awake, but there are also others who know the ins and outs of the bot, pretty easy to see who they are on the forums.

I don't, if they don't want to sell it anymore is their call, they promise a lot of stuffs and bot is working ONLY for grinding now with joe's cc, kick leveling profiles and default cc are craps.

Ultimately, it is up to them, and many of the users here (perhaps most) would be happy to pay a monthly fee if that meant continued access to the bot, your views notwithstanding. You don't have to keep subscribing, but many of us would be happy to move to a monthly sub if only it allowed the bot to remain operational.

I think a monthly fee - $10, as suggested, would quadruple profit per user for BW - is a good place to start. Most of us use this only for grinding, and for that purpose alone, it's well worth the fee IMO.

Right, I think some clarification is in order. The reason we decided to discontinue BuddyWing is because the game is a mess, code wise. The bot has been underperforming in sales, and has been a source of pure misery for a while now.

The code of the bot is actually in the best shape it could be; it's arguably the most well put together bot we have. One with a metric ton of features, too. Regardless of that fact, and the time and effort put into BuddyWing, it's a wildcard. One patch it's stable, and we see nothing but joy on the forums, the next patch there's misery everywhere and people are all up in arms; "it's a disgrace you're still selling this piece of crap", etc.

This isn't a money thing solely, as some of you suggest. It's the fact that we don't want to be selling a product we can not guarantee serviceability of, solely due to the lack of knowhow on the game developer's part. A product whose functionality depends on a coin toss every single patch. We want to deliver quality, reliable products.

Aevitas, thanks for the insight.

Have you considered marketing BW simply as a grinding bot (in which it succeeds admirably)? It really is the best SWToR grinding bot on the market, hands down. It's all about expectations; this would mean you never have to pay heed to complaints about any other aspect of the bot again. :D

This simple change, combined with a monthly sub (for much higher revenue per user, as well as only a 30 day commitment if the experiment fails) could both increase profitability and reduce customer service headaches to the Nth degree. Current users could choose to swap to a monthly sub once their annual sub runs out, while new users could begin contributing to the cause right away.

I really don't want to lose this awesome piece of programming when my annual sub runs out, and I think many users here agree. I do hope your team will consider some of these options!

my grinding bots work fine, accept for the occasional slow down, then stop, dont know what its due to, but when they work they work fuking good, and its a well spent $30

yep, i agree. switch it to a monthly subscription. state clearly that the bot is not perfect and is made to grind and anything else it does should just be considered a bonus.

then ignore all complaints other than nav server problems or updates and important things like that.

i wont disagree, the bot takes a little getting used to , getting to run etc.. but after that its a breeze.

you need a few more features and it to be stable to make it very successfull

pvp bot
space mission bot

if you got that everyone looking for a bot will be here.

I just started an operative with JOES CR and the old operative classs quests profiles....it works like a charm...seriously, if this bot will be maintained properly and the class stories and quests working + space missions, you guys would make some serious money...
As every class is doing the same quests per planet, all we would have to do is class missions....i would do hepas of stuff if some can show me what to do...:)

Regarding the fix-it/wish list in the last two posts:

...pvp bot, space mission bot, class stories and quests...

I suspect that what Aevitas said above applies here:

It's the fact that we don't want to be selling a product we can not guarantee serviceability of, solely due to the lack of knowhow on the game developer's part. A product whose functionality depends on a coin toss every single patch. We want to deliver quality, reliable products.

The game itself is a horrible mess of coding, and because of this, keeping those features functional has become a huge headache, and sometimes just isn't possible. The BW developers can do everything right and still have a laundry list of issues after every new patch through no fault of their own. This is why I suggested selling it primarily as a grind bot; the functionality for this aspect of the bot has been remarkably consistent and is invaluable for many of us subscribers.

This isn't to say I think all those features as currently implemented should be removed; I just think that the developers here are tired of trying to plug a sinking ship in regard to code that doesn't work properly half the time. But since we don't want to lose the bot completely, I'm hoping they consider some of the suggestions we've posted above.
