blizzard recently took action against players / guilds selling gear runs for end game raids.. so i mean clearly not that much of a hypocrisy if they are also taking action against those people...
regardless of how you feel about any of it, it's their game and they have the right to enforce what they wish, if they want to ban bots they have the right to ban bots and they started banning bots because the player base finally got fed up with it to the point that they were creating addons to try and help detect suspected botters etc..
blizzard did what they could to protect their investment... just because it doesn't align with what you want doesn't make them evil. Just like Bossland has done what he thought was right for his business revoking lifetime keys, and removing yearly keys etc... only blizzard didn't do that to any of us, they sold us a product and service, gave us clearly stated terms of how they would handle our business and it was up to us to go against them... the latter just decided to bend us over for his own benefit.
Actually, as EleGiggle pointed, they took actions only towards those players and guilds, selling gear/boost for real money, but not those, selling it for ingame gold.
Their actions are obvious - With the recent Token->Battle.net balance feature, they force both parties to run the ingame services via Blizzard's Pay-2-Win mechanism to generate extra.
So, since Blizzard clearly sell gold for real money (because everyone can buy officially ~90k gold for $20), why they action players, accused to sell their online time for money? Isn't this illegal concurrent practices? No matter if its on Blizzard ground, such practices are against any appropriate law in both EU/US.
And you, who is defending Blizzard, I doubt you still play the game by hands, right? Or not play the game at all, like major portion of the people on this board. They just bot it, because WoW is too boring and non-competing to be played by hands for many many years!
Plus no one here demonise Blizzard as evil, evul or something. We point the clear - Blizzard DO NOT CARE for their customers - The GAMERS! They just try to be police, action players here and there, but care not to change the game and make it less bottable!
The result is clear - each gamer needs to farm 54 ranks of artifact power to enter high-end raids ... pathetic!
this bot is dying.
HB do not see the big picture . HB is focused only on the BoT and Blizzard . trouble is the bot does nothing with out profiles. Enyo, Raid bot, Combat bot, and Group bot all need good routines. DungeonBuddy, BG buddy, Gatherbuddy2, Fishing buddy, and Grind bot all need profiles. 90% of the users dont know how to make them nor do they want to learn. think of the BoT like a game system (IE Xbox or Playtation ) if HB wants to make millions they need to start paying people to make profiles. lock the profile to a Key so you cant use it on all 100 keys only the 1 you bought it for. i know i would buy Legion dungeons and Legion LFRs for my Keys . i would buy Boss fights for normal and heroic if they worked. i bought the World quest for $25.i bought the Combat routinesfor $90. i loved Aion Satchel profile in Wod.i would of got the pet profiles from stuido 60 if i didnt lose my main account . i am sure 1000s would buy dungeons for $30 to $50 and Raids for $30 to $50. the few free profiles out there are so over used.
You are indeed right.
With all the recent stuff involved, seems the Core Devs have not prioritising into further development on those above. We pointed this to Bossland & Core Devs multiple times in the closed ComDev chat.
For example, Dungeonbuddy was quite unpopular recently for several reasons:
On Legion launch, Core Devs assured, we will have Dungeon scripts very soon. But months passed, and Oleary started coding his own dungeons profiles, but when he was almost ready for release few months ago, Core Devs released the default normal scripts and killed his work. But Oleary was ready with the Heroic scripts actually, not Normal ones only.
Now a few months passed since then, and we are yet to see Heroic scripts - the sad is, they are already coded, just missing the front-end profile for them, which is done in less than 3min for all 8 dungeons in total!
For Timewalking its the similar issue:
Highvoltz made the WoTLK or Cata TW scripts ready for internal testing since day one on the event few months ago, but no Core Dev baked a Release version for Honorbuddy for the 1-week event duration, so customers could not use them at all!
In the recent Pandaria TW, they prolly not found time to "make" the scripts, but it took me ~15min to take Highvoltz's default scripts and just merge the MoP Timewalking Id on each dungeon involved and upload them to the forum (without any testing). The result was known - they worked nearly perfect!
Regarding the LFR, most of the wings are quite straight forward, I briefly made some basic scripts (without any custom movement or avoidance on bosses) for 4-5 of them, they basically work for dps or healer - not 100% Afk, but 99%. So Im sure if they get some time for LFR, the result will be much better!
