going to be alot easyer to get gametime when patch is out blizzard is doing a system where you can buy gametime with gold off them

as of now on the "black market" for game time its around 30K for 30 days...45k for 60 days. Private buyers will be your best bet though...I've personally bought 30day codes for as little as 10-12k per from them. After this new "token" system hits live servers im assuming it should mirror the black market prices if anything. Maybe even a bit more.

how is blizzard making money by giving game time with gold?

how is blizzard making money by giving game time with gold?

They are 100% making money by doing this. They pretty much will dip into the "Gold Buying" market...by providing users a way to "buy gold" by buying game time tokens and selling it for in game gold. Now if they wanted to NOT make money from this, they would just make an NPC that sells game time tokens for gold, essentially making it a "gold sink". But no, they definitely will never make this NPC....theyll provide tokens for real money through the shop.

For you to buy this token, someone has to spend some $ to buy this token first.

My guess is they will take Wildstars lead on this. Charge extra for the game time to be in token form so $18-20 for a month. Making them more money and hopefully they limit how many can be bought. Hopefully it allows for us to resell them if bought, the wildstar ones dont, if that is the case botters can strike back by buying all the tokens up hold onto to them and raise the price like we do with anything else.

Than people who want to buy gold will get more for their tokens, and that`s the market you care about... If you want to sell the gold that is. You want those tokens cost next to nothing, so gold buyers would get better deal from you.

Is it confirmed already or still rumor? cant find any proper fresh blue post

im pretty sure they said they are thinking about the ideal but are not sure if they will implement it and when.

Of course, all of this depends on how Blizz implements the procedure, but typically, when developers start "selling" their own in-game currency, they do it through a secondary method(TCG packs/rewards, gametime, secondary currency etc) so the stupid moral high horse sheep don't get salty and quit.(Mind you, Blizz already does this in a very round-a-bout and gambly way with TCG Mounts/Pets).

In nearly every case so far, these methods are a much worse bargain in terms of USD/Gold for the player "buying" the gold. Ergo, the black market gold sellers don't see much of a drop off in business.

The main group paying Blizz for gold will be the people that are either too stupid or too scared to ever consider black market gold buying. Savy players who want a bargain will most likely stick with the black market, as they have in other games.
