final means final....its not a title or a brand name
 
Well tony you said at version 843 that there wont be anymore updates to HB2 - then you updated HB2's offsets in 844 and called it final.

So nowhere you put any statement if you will continue to update the offsets for HB2 releases or not. Just put a statement there, in the 844 thread.

Just write "HB2 WILL NEVER AGAIN BE UPDATED FOR ANY FUTURE PATCHES" instead of writing something like "Final".

Just say there wont be anymore HB2 offset updates or there will is it so hard?
 
well we thought there was no need for capital letters etc but if thats the only way

This is the most pointless train of conversation. Maybe the word 'final' means something different where you live; for regular people, it means don't expect anything else afterwards.

Then you will probably loose all the botters that were using non legion accounts to bot cause there are no profiles for HB3..

you can use HB2 profiles in HB3 but you can not use HB3 profiles in HB2,so i see no point there


the only reason we may release an updated HB2 build is because of DB support unless we manage to support it in next release of HB3,so i am leaving a small window open there :)


but thats the only reason to keep HB2 live,since last days there are a few HB3 updates covering most of the bugs,we are still polishing it tho but we are near to the point we want to be

totaly false what you said !!!

one of my friend has tested HB3 (with my key) for future subscription... He's in Trial WOW account and ALL the profiles who's come with HB3 for leveling WORK and old HB2 profile too ! So stop said SHIT !

Right this is true. As Tony was saying, HB3 is backwards compatible, and they did this to create an easier merge. Honorbuddy went to the vector system, instead of using the Mesh system. They could have just made it so everyone had to update everything including plugins, profiles, combat routines, botbases, EVERYTHING. But they didn't. Tony is firm, but he is fair, trust me I've had my issues hee. But I've owned multiple Buddy keys since 2007 and they have always been consistent.

Seriously what I'm saying is:

You write "Final" - A final release of software might still get updated, for example if the Operating System requires a change.

The post you did made it pretty clear that "Final" is regarding "no more improvement, no bugfixes, etc".

I'm not a reverse engineer (and i would assume most people one this forum aren't) - I don't know how much work it is to keep HB2 updated for future patches. I Don't know what exactly you need to do to updated these "patch memory offsets".

I can't know if it takes 1 hour to update HB2 after you did that for HB3 or if it takes 10 hours.

All I'm saying is you information policy on this pretty important topic is not very good - Indeed it's terrible - you replace HB2 with a half baked build of HB3 - I get it - You want improvement.

Then you pull back and start supporting HB2 again for 2 more builds.

Now you say NO UPDATES.

Then 2 posts later you say maybe because of Dungeonbuddy.


Sorry but why can't you just say, yes we will support HB2 build upgrades until X.

Stop the maybes - Its not good business your doing with this.

the picture i get is that we have thousands of users understanding the situation and the way we act

i really dont get your point...you will informed via forums,like everyone else does,about the updates and about which build will get support and which not
plan is changing on the go as we are updating and testing things

Spend our money and your time on fixing HB3. No point wasting time on maintaining an end of life product. This isn't like buying a TV. We're buying a cheating program that can be detected and lead to bans any day. I think different rules to successful business apply here - slightly. :)

Who cares about leveling profiles? I want gold farming ones.
 
All goldfarming for HB2 Dosnt work at you fucking HB3 with you fucking new navigation system
 
If it's only navigation system then it will be easy to fix. Anyway there are many more issues that should be fixed before leaving HB2 behind.
 
I didn't even want to open a discussion if HB2 should be updated or not.

All I wanted to know if there's plans maintaining HB2 until some serious issues with HB3 are fixes.

If I knew that there would be no more updates for the WoW patches to HB2, I would know I have to start testing my Profiles with HB3 - and If my Profiles do not work with HB3's navigation system or if they need to much babysitting, then I could at least try figuring out something new.

This way - if the HB3 update drops, I don't even know if i should wait for a HB2 upgrade or not - so yeah - as of right now A LOT of people are still heavily using HB2.

I don't have the numbers, Buddyteam probably has them, but I feel like at least telling us when the product will be discontinued for real would be nice.

And if HB3 doesn't work properly in Pre-Legion content (which i honestly didn't even test after the first HB3 release was not working) i feel like you should continue to maintain HB2 releases or at least say that you won't.
