Would you pay for CCs

I voted no. Not that I wouldn't pay for someones quality work it's the fact that I can't, a lot of people that use honorbuddy are students like myself. Juggling my casual works pay around grocery shopping and fuel to get too and from university it was hard enough to find the spare cash to purchase HB. I am still trying to saving for GB lifetime at this very time. Also being an Australian 25 Euro is roughly 37 Australian dollars, now imagine the price of GB lifetime which is 80 Euro.

I'd highly recommend charging for 'support' rather than outright charging for the CC itself.

1) CCs are open source. Unless you do some really tricky (read: hackish) stuff, you have 0 protection on your 'business'. So in other words; there's no point. You get 1 sale, and the rest goes out for free.
2) It's already a bit too expensive for some people to even buy the bot. Let alone buy CCs.

If we start allowing CCs to be 'paid CCs', then the entire community will go downhill, and there will be nothing left for new users to play with. We'll start losing members to bots with 'free CCs' and other stuff.

If CCs were allowed to be 'paid' CCs, then they'd have to go through a set of QC checks from the official dev team, to make sure the CC doesn't cause any issues with HB itself, and cause HB to start going down the drain because HB is getting a bad rep due to craptastic paid CCs. (BIG NOTE HERE: More than 80% of issues people see with HB, are CC/Plugin related. You do the math.)

As I said though; feel free to 'charge for support', etc. Just please; don't go charging to tell someone "Check the box on the left" and then asking for $15.

This thread is in no way indicitative of my immediate intention to start charging for my work, I'm simply trying to gauge peoples willingness to spend money on CCs / profiles.

Hyperthetically, lets say the cost of the CC is $US 10. For that you get full MSN / Email support and free updates for the life of the product. And it comes with a money back guarantee if you're not happy with the purchase.

When voting in the poll, ESPECIALLY if you vote NO, please indicate why. I'd really to hear from everyone who votes NO.



Edit: Just a quick calculation based on all the donations I've received for my CCs. If I remove all donations above $100 and all below $5 and average out the remaining donations the value is $US 43.35. Personally, I think $45 is a bit much, but then, I've made some rather large donations to others in similar situations. If I have the money, I don't mind paying for quality products.

I've voted yes up to a point,

No offense to this CC creator, but I have tried a couple of CC's on this site that have just not been up to scratch. If I am forced to pay for a CC I want a fully professional product: Maybe some default templates that come with the CC (i.e, No need to actually set up the CC, allowing the possibility to just plug 'n' play) perhaps some features that aren't seen in other CC's.

I must admit, I haven't tried "The One CC" so I couldn't comment on how good or bad it is. But just appreciate that we want the money's worth.

As an added note, is there any way you can make a trial period for your CC's so others can try before they buy?

there is no reason for this
we have the best dev team arround,so if in the future we will be in need for CC's our devs will create them(there are already default CC's out there)
