So on my server (which will remain anonymous lol) the price of prismatic scales has dropped dramatically. It's gone from around 300-250g per stack to around 150g per stack, and that's on a good day. This has all happened in the span of one week's time. My question is, if I bought up all the prismatic scale stacks for 150g each stack, and listed every one for let's say 280g, would people continue listing them at 150g or would the price go up? Sorry if this is confusing lol.

If you have VERY deep pockets and dont mind the risk there is a chance this would work. But in truth this is classic supply and demand, once the majority of the server pop has leveled their trade skills through materials the price always drops. Its not likely you could keep buying out the cheaper materials enough to effect the long term pricing and make a profit.

Even if you buyout the AH, people will just continue to post at low prices.

Items that are easily botted (ores/herbs/skinning) isn't worth flipping.
