I leave it 24/7 with the odd 1 hr break to avoid overheating comp.
but I switch mode every 12 hours or so, 7 days of pure grinding is not a good idea

Guess its all about the kind of Bot and which Profile.

Wouldnt ever bot 15 Hours in Uldum Mining/Herbing ever, too dangerous. I wouldnt generally bot in Uldum for more than 1 hour.

But I run Vashjir gathering for 10++/h and I have seen 2 people in my way and both farming per hand. 0 whisper received.
Same with ArchBuddy you could run it 24/7 nobody will ever whisper you or anything.

I've been questing my two accounts for 3 days in a row, no whispers, (except for those pesky scam whispers). Just be careful what you do, I babysit my bots while they quest because they often get stuck doing somthing, and at the 80-85 quests theres is a shit load of manual quests. But if you wanna afk those levels just Arch it

For me, I can mine in Uldum for hours on end, only seeing another botter once or twice along the way.

hey,i Farming 24/7 on my main Account, and no ban ;)

So to these people that do bot 24/7 when your account gets banned I expect you not to complain as to " Hey why did I get the BAN" because long term people like myself can testify that 24/7 is very risky.. I have made it all the way from Glider without a single ban nor a suspension relating to boting. The new comers should go read some of the sticky's posted throughout the forums.

it depends on what your doing for most people 12 hours is more then enough.

I just bought this amazing gem 3 days ago, and i've been using it almost non-stop. I am not worried at all, because i'm just using it to level alts on a new realm right now. But it's on easily 15-20 hours a day.

questing . yea sure.. but farming. i would be iffy. there are to many people botting(farming wise) and they'll report you faster than a legit player. and most of them are right here on this forum.

to true. i never realised how many botters there where until i started botting myself.. funny how you just notice simple things like how the im stuck get unstuck mech works "run to side, pause, hop" or the instantly rolling on loot. to other things like pausing in between killing players in pvp, and the minor jitters "stop start" running etc.... i dont look for other botters and couldent care less if someone elses was botting... but id say in my travels i see at leased 1 other botter each day and i only play for 3-4 hours running around doing my dailies or what not.

so yes long story short honorbuddy has ALOT of tell-tail signs more so than i have mentioned above, these tel-tails can be easily spotted by other botters\players. so i do not feel even slightly safe using it on my mains account and wouldn't recommend using HB on any account you cant afford to lose.. myself.. i opted to buy 2 new wow accounts just for botting.. one i bot (Farming\BG\PvP) as i play my main and the other i bot while im at work (questing).. this only leaves me with the concern of blizzard tracing gold or mats back to my mains account from the bots... not sure if this is an issue!

P.S - Never use a public profile unless there is no choice, as above using public profiles just adds more tel-tail signs to be picked up on...

so my answer to the OP... bot as long as u want if you dont care about getting banned, however if u care about being banned "see above" ^ as its the only solution i could think of that worked for me...

u do realise that if your toons on another realm get busted you lose your entire account right? just a heads up.

Wait if you've never been banned since the glider days how do YOU know anything about the risks of doing it 24/7? At best you've got hear-say knowledge of other's experience.

Botting itself is a risk every time you do it. The more you bot the more you run the risk that people notice you and report you, that's it. I've had accounts bot 24/7 for weeks on end without ban and I've had bots that have been hit within hours of starting the bot. A HUGE part of it is luck...and how douchey the people on your server are...

not worth it
That's subjective. I bot 24/7 and it's extremely worth it. With my main account, no less. Maybe it's playing for fire...but then again, if you are worried about losing your account, you shouldn't bot at all.

17h+ currently, but questing only no mining / herbing at all. after all my toons reached 85 i'll reduce the runtime instantly.

I know, i just meant that it's only being used for questing, which itself is very low profile, and it's on a new realm where no one knows me.

Im currently leveling a warrior and a shaman using Kicks profiles and it only got stuck once, its more or less flawless.

I think running GB 12 hours daily is fairly risky.

I run approx 8 hours a day, in different intervals (mainly 2 hours on, 3 hours off, and never at night)

I bot somewhere between 15 hours a day on the weekend and 7 hours a day on weekdays. Simply because I babysit my bot. I'm studying and if someone sends a group invite I send a PM saying sorry, I like to play solo or something like that. If someone is following me in the middle of nowhere, I stop the bot and start up a conversation about them being a stalker. I bought on my main account because I don't have the time to be leveling my alts through the same quests I've already done on my main. I also don't post obscene amounts of auctions on a regular basis. Today, I emptied out the bank accounts of random cloth, ore and leathers as well as stuff from disenchanting, I accumulated over 9 alts and mailed them to my main and put everything on the AH. Shouldn't be too much of a red flag and it's always something I can explain to customer service... hey, look where it all came from, check my characters, you'll see its all be sitting in their banks for months.
