other 'tools' have been working fine for weeks now, with no issues.

This argument keeps coming up and I can't decide if it's just some trolling without much imagination or if folks just don't get it.....

The problem is NOT making the bot work, the bot works fine, the problem IS making the bot UNDETECTABLE or at least limiting detection. Blizzard does not ban botters one at a time, they do it in waves, banning large groups at a time. The "other tools" you mention will have most if not all of their customers banned with the next wave. Sure their bot works, but it's definitely not safe.

I have always been of the same opinion with regards to grinding. It does not take a genius to create something that says alert me if any toon kills x of same target or targets in a certain area in x period. I think others realise this also and hence why we have questing bots now.

I think questing is a bit more difficult because these are quest all clients are doing. The only telltales are the quest done and quest skipped. They can look for matches of quest not done against a map of quest by our profiles. This is why it is so critical for our quest to complete for each zone because the map against that would create more problems.

I will quest level simply because now the questing for 100-110 is all for the zone. I always try to mix stuff in during the middle like some old content stuff to try mix stuff up.

I have bot-leveled 3 characters, though it was back in the Cata days. 0-85, took about two weeks of 24 hour bot sessions (each) . Of course there were several days when the bots were offline due to errors/glitches etc. I was working during the day so I was not there to re-set/re-log the bots when they dropped offline which is why it took two weeks. I leveled them all via questing, rather than grinding and never caught a ban. I never used them for profession grinding, PvP, or dungeons. Your mileage may vary but questing is a far better way to level than grinding. If you bot in PvP/dungeon/raid you will get caught eventually. For me I just use the bots to level alts because as a working adult I don't have the time and still want to enjoy playing multiple classes during my limited 4 or so hours a week of game time. The bots enable me to do that, and that is why I love them. My alts all live on alt accounts so I never risk my main account, if I lost them I'd be sad, but not really upset.

TLDR: If you bot, assume you will be caught at some point, be careful and make sure you don't risk anything you can't afford to loose (ie your main account).

What's probably going on is Bossland filed a new company called "Bot and Robot Entertainment" on September 15 with the same address and management as Bossland. Honorbuddy has likely been put on the back burner and they're focused on the new company which is more profitable and doesn't have the legal issues. I would do the same. I seriously doubt this long delay is due to technical issues.

Honorbuddy has likely been put on the back burner and they're focused on the new company which is more profitable and doesn't have the legal issues. I would do the same. I seriously doubt this long delay is due to technical issues.

This is definitely a possibility but I would offer another close possibility also. Bossland realises that his financial cost will in the end outstrip the money he is currently making ftom HB and decides to diversify before he is out of cash in a business thats legal and can help fund his battle.

Why I say that is because Blizz will go after assets of bot and rebot if they can find that either he funded the business from hb sales or if their lawsuit goes beyond his financial assets and they can directly link the business to him....

If you can find that info then so can Blizz. That said he must be waging on the battle or he would never have linked Bossland to new business at all.

I did trust management and in my sleep I could have drafted a better trust set up.

Bot and Robot Entertainment has something to do with automation for the Film and TV industry and is not legally affiliated with Bossland. Since this is a very niche industry that one does not come up with out of the blue, I imagine they already have customers, projects, and revenue. If this is the case, I fully understand why they are transitioning away from Bossland and into a more legit industry without all of the legal hassles. Unfortunately, I don't think the long term prognosis for HB is good if Blizzard continues press Bossland with this war of attrition. Dealing with all the lawsuits and declining revenue is not a battle worth fighting. I just wish they would be more upfront about it like the Glider folks were.

The issue is, there is alot of speculation here. One needs to wait for official word from some of the higher ups, like Tony, or even maybe bossland himself, or at the very least a relayed message from them to the rest of the community. I know its a pain waiting, we have had one of our other bots on hold for prolonged maintenance too, but this doesn't mean it's the end. If it were to be the end, it would be done away with. The lack of communication implying its done, is not the presence of hidden intent, it simply means, that's not the communicated intent at this time. Sitting and waiting patiently is the hardest thing to do at times, but its the only option if something is being worked on to be fixed. The last thing anyone wants is a half finished product right?

It makes people think rather than there being some major security problems that devs are working around the clock to counter, just the opposite, that there's no one hardly working on it or caring about HB customers. Typically when people are active, care about their business and customers, they provide them information when the business has problems. I must agree with many here, this has not been that. I get the distinct impression that the efforts behind this product have dwindled substantially. Maybe at one point people really cared and devoted a lot of time to this but if I were to bet now, my bet would be on that there is not much time devoted to this project any longer and it's just being milked for what ever residuals it has left before the project dies off.

I hope you are wrong on the last point but I completely agree with you on communication aspect. They suck big time with communication no matter what line of crap they say about nothing new to report. And all the other people who support are silly also.

Well we got an update today giving us a 48 hour window baring any other problems.

I find it interesting that people seem to universally agree that Blizzard has stepped up their security/detection game (they have). Given that this is a FACT, it's surprising to me that people are so ready to come up with conspiracy theories on why the update is taking longer than average. It's fairly simple, Blizzard took a big jump forward in detection, and it took longer to find a way for HB to be able to run "safely" (as safe as you can run a bot).

We will see if it's up in 48 hours, personally I have enjoyed reading freekouts in the meantime.

There is a difference between being affiliated, and two companies being affiliated via work. Bossland the person is tied to both, Bossland the company is not by default, especially not because some people are the same... It seems like the ramifications for this would probably be working its way through the court system around now and the people behind Bossland are trying to cover their asses by forming a new company in a new industry.
