Wizard Build keeps dying

Hi, my Wizard keeps dying with CM build and on MP 4.

What build do you play with your wiz?
 
Hehe, yea, I also started with a CM wizard. I had a tanky wizard with over 4k armor and 800 resists (unbuffed dps around 200k). He still dies on higher MPs, and he's much slower (about 2x) than a sprint barb with equally costing gear. So, I run a barb now - much more effective.

I do like wizards though. Blizzard hasn't managed to balance the game at all. Everybody runs a sprint barb. Other builds are for fun only.
 
Anyway, the main reason why CM wizard dies is because he doesn't have nearly as effective health regen. A wizard relies on his diamond skin to protect him, which doesn't always work. If he takes damage, he has a hard time getting the health back. While a barb takes damage all the time, but regenerates it all the time as well (the right build).

No. There are like two wizard builds which people use: Archon and CM.

Archon has a much higher dps, but is less tanky (has to kite, so the bot is really bad at running it). If you lose Archon, you are dead. To prevent this, you have to go MP1-3, so that he kills really fast keeping Archon form.

CM build uses a different main hand and source, because it needs power on crit, but those are lower dps, and more expensive items. He doesn't use Glass cannon passive, or magic weapon, or familiar, decreasing dps considerably. It can tank a lot if the build is right. Can do MP10 only with very expensive gear.

Actually, the bot runs fine, considering it's a bot. He does some awesome teleporting which normal players cannot do. You just need a much better gear than a barb needs. This is a build problem, not a bot problem.
