Witch Doctor (Jade) Spamming Melee attack

Hi

My bot is spamming melee attack somehow. It's not caasting Haunt even though it has mana for it.

Somehow it's attacking with: Used Power (Weapon_Melee_Instant)

help plz?
 
The play style is DoT everything with Haunt(and continue to spam haunt even though enemies are already affected by Haunt, once theres a cluster use soul of harvest) and everything die , anyone botting/botted with this build?; did you change the routine/made your own that you mind share :3?


The set bonus:

"When Haunt lands on an enemy already affected by Haunt, it instantly deals 60 seconds worth of Haunt Damage"

"Soul Harvet consumes your damage over time effects on enemies instantly dealing 150 seconds worth of remaning damage"

Jade Doc has been updated now. Could you guys please try the new trinity (2.14.10)? We didn't specifically fix this, but we fixed the faulty Haunt spam, so it should always have that skill to fall back on now.
 
It's still doing the same thing meleeing even though I have mana for haunt, maybe I have some faulty setting
 
Usually the sequence is: Haunt/locust swarm (+Utility abilitieS) --> run up to the DoTed monster and starts meleeing it
 
You sure you on 2.14.10? It seems nesox released a new version of DB with a really old version of trinity included. Updating DB would overwrite the new trinity folder with the old one.

I've changed Haunt section to

Now bot spam Haunt. It does not seem to spread it but with Resentful Spirits rune (2 spirits at 1 cast) and Haunting Girdle belt (+1 spirit) that's not a problem.
 
Ok, i'll see if I can find the time to check it today. In the mean time, could you please go to advanced settings and check 'log skill selection'? Then you can stop the bot right after it melee attacks for the first time. After that upload the log here for me to take a look.
 
I've been watching it. Like Kot Begemot posted, it only seems to melee when low on mana with the latest version of Trinity. Editing the amount of mana (I chose 20%) seems to help alleviate the issue some, but it doesn't spam soul harvest enough to regain that mana back.
 
So this is what's going on: Haunt, Locust Swarm and Piranhas consume mana, and at some point this mana will get really low. Here trinity will notice it can't cast any of the spender skills anymore and, if the cooldown based skills are also unavailable, it will resort to melee attacks.

Now, I get form this thread that this is not a desired behavior. So I ask you guys, what would be better here? Just run around until you can cast something? Run away?
 
I wonder if using haunt/piranado only on everything but elites, champs and RG's and the haunt/piranado/locusts on the elites champs and rg's

Yes plz, but not run away too far :) but just move around a bit yes.. also look at my recent thread about helltooth/pet. similar issue

melee attack with wd = bad in general. anything else would be better.
 
2.4.11 not working for me neither. still attacking melee after haunt is up on the target even at full mana.

also, its still manually casting locust swarm with wormwood in the cube.
 
In a related request, is there any way to tweak the weighted cluster calculations so it attempts to Harvest in a better spot? It should be positioning itself physically in the middle of clusters rather than on the edge. Bot loses a ton of potential DPS by not Harvesting effectively. It seems to just trigger the Harvest when there's at least 1 monster in range.

Basically, I'd like the bot to be more brave. :) If people aren't geared defensively enough, that shouldn't be the bots problem. (You could also make a selectable option to be "braver" perhaps?)

i think there's a setting for haunt, or similar that says mininum number of mobs to harvest or cluster? maybe i am wrong but that is what you would want, like change/make a setting that says only cast harvest when x amount mobs are in say 2m range (make it small range cuz you want to be surrounded or in the thick of things, it may help but idk, even though i agree this isnt optimal right now i am still cruising through t7 on mine and i have the full build, it never dies, and murders everything so i'm happy for now
