I want to install windows 8, does DB support it?
 
From Microsoft?? The consumer preview.

Do you think it'll work if you run it in compatibility mode/?

planning to try it out on VM
 
I know the first Costumer preview version didnt support honorbuddy, i would wait for a reply from a admin or someone who's tried it.
 
Win8 will run Diablo3 just fine. But DB/HB do not support win8 at this time because Win8 isn't released... :(
 
Have you guys tried demonbuddy in "compatibility mode"

I'll just save you all that trouble. It doesn't work. I've tried it with the release preview fully updated. I've changed compatibility i've uninstalled and re-installed many different things, and what it comes down too, is that windows 8 runs on .NET 4.5 and DB needs 4.0 which get's over written. You'll unfortunately have to wait. If you want Windows 8 and be able to run DB you'll have to dual boot your OS. Run windows 7 and play db, Log off and then use windows 8. It's the only way, sorry.

The reason Demonbuddy doesn't work under Windows 8 is due to a change in the directX files. In technical term, the Endscene signature has changed and is no-longer compatible with Demonbuddy's hook. This change might not exist in release version of Win8.
 
As HV said, they've made subtle changes to DirectX in Win8. We don't support beta software (never have, never will). Once Win8 becomes RTM, we'll definitely add support for it. We don't support it, simply because we don't have the manpower to also provide support for a pre-release OS that very few people are using. (Plus, Win8 kinda sucks right now)

The final release is already out and APOC said that you guys will support RTM but i am still waiting months in.

Hmmmm, I would be interested in this support whenever it comes, I've kinda been wanting to check out W8.....

Hopefully sooner than later... but this is for sure lower on my priority list.
