Will DB support windows 8 any time soon now that it has gone gold?

Those with MSDN or Technet subs will be getting it in 12 days.

Does Win 8 allow me to run more VM instances at lower CPU/GPU utilization %? If not, I don't see the benefits of Win8 other than for bragging rights?

Yea i would say so.

Windows 8 is a lot more efficient and everything is hardware accelerated.

There are a lot of under the hood improvements and optimisations

Windows 8 rtm is easy available anywhere now.. I'm currently runing it... Aug 15, devs can get it, Oct 26, it's for sale.

Aug 15th we'll look into adding support. Don't worry :)

Once it's for general sale, we'll ensure all our products support Win8 as well. Until then, we'll ensure it's on its last final revisions. (There's likely to be another 1-2 builds before they finally start selling it)

Edit; make that Aug 16th. (15th if the other devs add it before I do. I'll be at a Blues Traveler/Barenaked Ladies concert!)

Windows being "decent" has always skipped a version.

Following the Microsoft trend, I myself will be waiting until other sheeps work out the kinks and a few service packs are out.

RTM version is the exact same version the consumers will be getting in October minus some bloatware by OEMs.

Windows Update will push updates though

Yes, hence my point. They'll push changes on Windows Update that will be there when consumers purchase the the final consumer version. (In Win7, they broke a few things when they did this. Prefer to avoid that fiasco again)

No idea who blues travelers and barenaked ladies are :S

I installed windows 8 last night and bot/d3 still work

I would love for you to show me how you got it working...

For me d3bot doesn't work at all. As soon as I start the bot d3 crashes.
HB only works if I use hbrelog which sucks because I use ARelog.

Has anyone seen lower CPU util% and mem usage for DemonBuddy.exe and Diablo3.exe in Win8?

Demonbuddy doesn't work on Win 8 due to the fact that .net 4.0 can't be installed and that .net 4.5 doesn't have perfect backwards compatability.
