Title pretty much , was wondering if botting would be a viable solution to make $

How would it earn you cash? AH is closing the day ROS comes out.

Yes you can.

Selling gems and gold.

How can you sell gold you ask me?

Think of the things you can buy with gold and trade ;)

PS: There was a thread about it on d2jsp

Its going to be a little different, but yes there is potential to make more a lot more.

You need to find a 3rd party auction house website.

Selling Gold I believe will be little to no profit at all.

But perfect rolled items, well sell for big dollars..

HOWEVER.. Loot 2.0 has kinda screwed us over and there will be decent rolls all over the place, so you will need near if not perfect rolls on all the attributes to sell it for any decent cash.

Pre loot 2.0 and the death of D3 (pre expansion) I was making 400 bucks a week just selling items through a 3rd party player auction site.

Ok, will give you guys a hint :)

Flawless gems to....

Wont say no moar! :)

Account selling is always an option. I've got 4 going with that intent.

flawless gems to.... other useless gems?!

low level gems will have nearly no value anymore and marquise gems which are boa will drop like flawless gems nowadays...

the higher tier gems are all boa and are rather crafted from marquise upwards, or even imperial gems which drop on master and higher upwards.

smaller gems have no sell value at all... i may dont see some obvious recipe which turns a gem + x into y which sells for huge gold amounts to the vendor and is tradeable, but such things will be patched soon anyways if it gets common use...

so beside finding the top rolled rare item and sell it on 3rd parties, there will be nearly no method to make cash in the long run imho.

but i think they will return to tradable legendaries and maybe even some kind of nerfed AH later on, when people realize that "selffound only, i have no irl" playstyle, hyped by streamers playing 10+ hours a day, does not fit on 90% of the player base, who is still missing the core legendary for their desired build after 4 month of playing and therfore shitstorming the official forums....

It'll be like D2 days (sojs were once currency). Something will be currency and if they patch trading of gems for example, then something else will just replace that as currency. There will have to be some sort of currency or I don't see the game making it very far. People will always want to be able to trade to get what they want after hours upon hours of grinding and getting squat.

You obviously did not get it :)

Of course I know Marquise and Imperial gems will be dropping, but you are not understanding the underlying economy of gems when the expansion comes.

As I said, there was a thread explaining how to make money post expansion, so google and d2jsp is your friend.

I think you'll see the AH come back but run by Blizz for their profit not ours...

anyone can find that topic on d2jsp. Phenotype can you just put a link to this???

yeah same here, been searching for quite some time now :-(

Blimey, cant even find it now, I forgot to bookmark lol

Anyways, there was a scheme there about upgrading the gems and you would be using your gold to upgrade other peoples gems and also enchant/roll new stats for other peoples gear.

Was basically people trading you low gems, you upgrade their gems and give back to them, and that would be a form of gold trading of sorts.
Also mentioned was the fact of materials being able to be traded, materials that were pre-60.

Nobody will need those materials, and gem upgrading en-masse won't happen. If you think making $10 a week after looking for and manually interacting with buyers for countless hours is something worth doing, good for you.

Selling gold, or items, will be impossible in RoS. D3 became a single player game.
