Going from 1.5x to 1.2 will bring my ~1100res guys to around 850-900.

Short answer, no it won't effect you much at all.

I've posted somewhere else about effective farming once 1.05 hits, and the lower MP levels are the way to go (unless when the patch is released some miraculous information comes to light that will change things)

Mobs in MP1 hit far less than they currently do in 1.04, so do not worry about AR, focus more on DPS for faster clears :)

how about do some reading? even after the impunity nerf, because of the inferno damage nerf youll be taking less damage in .05 than you are currently.

question is will anybody be using a different skill in place of warcry and if so what would it be?

Download the PTR and test builds for yourself lol, how else do you think we come up with changes to builds?

Or the question is if you will try to bot at higher MP levels. From what I read with the 25% mf per MP at higher MP levels you could get much more legendaries and rares with increadibly high affixes.

Quoting myself on the Trinity - Wizard thread (ignore all about builds for wiz)

Farming with any class above MP3 will be less efficient than farming MP1-3, even if you have "5b" worth of gear.

The wizard build for the bot will be
Archon - Improved Archon
All Passives set to DPS boosts (Glass cannon, cold blooded etc)
Rest of skills all pure DPS, no defensive skills at all.

The most efficient MP level to farm will be MP1, simply because even though MP10 gives you an extra 225% MF/GF compared to MP1, the following things hold:

1) Increasing MP levels does NOT increase the # of rares you receive.
2) The higher MP level in itself does not effect the % of 6-affix rolls on rares, however the 225% increase will return 'roughly' a 1% increase in 6-affix rare roll drops.

This means that if MP10 (or any MP level in between) takes less than 1% more time than MP1 it is worth farming, but seeing as in MP1 elites have ~1m HP, trash ~50-200k hp, and MP10 Trash has 500-2m HP and elites are 20-50m HP, the speed that it takes (not to mention the increase in DPH at higher MP levels, and the cost to bot realistically in higher MP levels) is not worth the return on rare drops OR legendarys.

From my experience of the PTR there is a slight increase in legendary drops per elite pack in higher MP levels, however as stated above the time that it takes to 'farm' is ridiculous.

An example:

Bearing in mind that a full Gangamstyle A3 run for a 100k dps wiz is 35-40 minutes currently, this is equivalent to MP3 when 1.05 hits.

Within theory this means that MP1/2 will be faster than current run time, so let's assume its 30 minutes a run.

MP10 equivalent runs will take upwards of 2 hours to complete (and that is being generous). If (and this is not the case but lets take it as being so) the drop rate for legendary's alone is doubled this means that (on average) a full run of MP10 gives you 2x legendary drops, yet within the same time period we could have completed 4xMP1 runs at 1x legendary drops.

Total:
MP10 2x base drop rates
MP1 4x base drop rate

Over the same time period.

-------------------------------------------------------

If you have any questions about the logic behind this then please feel free to ask me, the best class for farming once 1.05 hits will be pure DPS. Survivability no should no longer be a factor.

If you managed to read it all then congratulations and thanks for reading!

stopped reading after the first line, but yeah i agree. currently making a huge a1 + whimsyshire profile in preparation for .05, anything past mp 4 or maybe 5 is just pointless right now.

It's much easier to quote myself than to re-write it all :P and a lot of people seem not to understand how 1.05 is going to work anyway.

A1 + Whimsy sounds alright actually, although I may stick with A3 purely from the density of elites.

was discussing this just 5 mins ago with a friend, ive never actually farmed a1 so im not even sure how dense the areas are so yeah whimsy might not even make up for the lack of mobs compared to a3. will just have to test i suppose

Thank you for ur information and guideance. I read a blizzard post says that item affix will be based on MP. Will that also be taking in consideration when deciding which MP we should bot on?

maybe with party leader/ party dude coop plugin from chuckyegg it will have sense to have higher mp level!

4 bots clearing same level is a team seems nice:)

Items
Affixes on items will now roll their level based on the level of the monster killed (rather than the item's level) This now applies to random affixes on Legendary items
"Extra Health From Globes" now benefits potions.

There is a serious logical flaw...

1) You're posting on DB forums
2) Unicorn land is a Random Dungeon
3) DB blows at supporting random Dungeons

You are correct here, but as I stated in my last quote, the benefits of the extra 250% MF means you get roughly 1% more 6-affix drops, but it takes far too long to be viable.

You will receive at least 10x the amount of 6-affix rares farming MP1 than you will farming MP10 over the same time period.

Hope that clears things up for you

EDIT: I think I misinterpreted what you wrote slightly, if you're referring to the level of the affix then any MP level is the same (as all monsters are automatically Lvl 63, and not any higher.

Blizzard actually already described this change on their forum. They stated that they are actually nerfing the amount of All Resist needed to run higher acts so that they can nerf abilities like this so they feel less mandatory. They stated that the nerf will actually be in the player's favor and that players will actually recieve less damage with the nerf even though they actually have less resistance.

I should add tht clearly in order to recieve less damage with less resistance monster damage is obviously being nerfed
