Will using honorbuddy just for rotation get you banned?

HB is detected. Bossland said so himself. It's been 4 detection banwaves giving 6 month's ban. (18 month's second time you get cought). Been baned at all 4 waves using rotation only.
 
If you use the bot for anything large or small botting is botting and you will be banned if caught........

The bot is not detected, albeit I know that can change in a moments notice, the way your character moves on the server is detected. Client side is relatively safe until Blizzard finds a way to get their garbage Warden to find the injection method. The other thing that I have gotten banned for was not during ban waves but during times between them. I have luckily never been on when a tripwire event went down and hopefully never will. My bot has gotten stuck before in odd places with other players looking at me when I have returned to check it. It has also done very bot things like mount and dismount too quickly and I have made rookie mistakes by not using the latest profiles from the buddy store. With HB3 the server side analytics is going to get much harder as the path's that the bots are taking are finally going to change instead of being the same across hundreds of people. I have found the best method right now is to bot when you can actually watch the bot like when you are playing other games. I have always run into trouble when I try to AFK the bot even when it was more stable.

Sorry dude, have no ide where you get this info, but you have been arround since may and have missed the last 4 banwaves. Blizz run som kind of malware now and then that deteckts the bot. Bossland said so himself. One of the detections was cought by tripwire. Bossland found out that Blizz had found the IP ranges of tripwire and was able to bypass it. Please stop spreading false info.
 
There are also plenty of other techniques that are based on heuristics and don't use process scanning techniques. For example, there are lots of data mining companies that I'm sure can use map-reduce algorithms on Blizzard's log files to determine with about 99.99% accuracy which accounts are bots. Or, they could do something that forces tripwire to activate and determine which accounts insta-log or immediately stop doing anything. Do this 2 or 3 times and it's pretty much 100% certain the account is a bot. It's a game of cat and mouse and Blizzard can play at the game of passive detection as well.
 
Basically Blizzard could ban you for everything that's related to 'automate user interaction in WoW'.

If you are a programmer, you know it's easy to detect "honorbuddy.exe" process list from the client side. Blizz can simply blacklist the process and flag you as a botter. This is a normal detection by various mmorpg games such as GameGuard or PunkBuster. I am surprised when people moaning about bans but I don't see that Blizz really want to ban bots. Blizz can simply use these methods and kill HB,but why they didn't? Because they just don't want to.

They are playing cat and mouse just like Apple and jailbreaks. Do you have any idea how much money they make by "allowing" bots accounts on their servers. Running their own virtual "Gold" currency that can be exchanged with real money? But it doesn't mean they are allowing it, legally. They need to show the world that they are doing their job. It's a business guys. Someone just got to make some money.
 
I've been using HB for around 4 years now... I've had 1, 6 month ban from doing a 48 hour grind... the only other thing ive used the bot for is rotation and if you are playing but just using the bot to do your rotation chances are you're not going to get reported. But there is still a chance to get flagged on the tripwire events but like i say, 1 ban in 4 years for me forgetting to turn my bot off when i went out for the weekend ^^

Act like a human and you'll get treat like one ;)
 
Would'nt it be sick if blizz had the hands in HB huh wouldn't that add a twist to the debacle unlimited money for everyone huh.

It is worrying though, since the bot is now detected (devs confirmed it in an old post), I too worry about using the combat rotation.

Hopefully they will do a good job with LegionBuddy and that one will be very hard to detect since it wont fiddle with the games memory and files.

I cant wait :)

Just curious didnt SBR not fiddle with memory files and yet they just got a ban wave a few days ago.
