why buy GB over HB?

A friend told me about GB, so I grabbed it for a month to check it out. (probably a little too quickly)
Now after reading some about HB, I see that it seems to do everything that GB does, plus more, and for cheaper? (one year of HB is cheaper than a month of GB?)

I'm sure I'm missing something, can someone clue me in?

GB has recentely been integrated into HB =)
 
So if I just got a GB Subscription do I now have access to HB? If so they should probably clarify the store a bit. ;)

The only thing they changed was so that lifetime users (lifetime users have both HB and GB) can mount flying mounts without being dismounted now. Also, there's no bugfree plugin for flying gathering in HB yet.
 
GB is still GB, just for cata.

As far as HB goes, there is a botbase GB for HB (ie: for combat mainly, and customization)
 
Sorry, not intentionally being obtuse, but it seems like I'm getting different answers, or I'm misunderstanding them.

This is what I'm understanding... Currently, GB only gathers (and fights when required, but doesn't loot corpses, doesn't skin, etc) HB gathers, loots corpses, skins, quests, etc...
A year of HB costs what a month of GB costs. (Or one can get purchase a liftetime acct, which gives access to both) Is this all correct?

a month of Gb costs 5euros

and Gb lifetime gives you access on Gb and Hb (up to 3 sessions in total,in any combo)
 
That still doesn't address my issue. Irrespective of the lifetime option, HB does everything that GB does (Plus more), for less money.

I agree that lifetime seems the way to go. I've only had GB a couple days now, is there some way to roll my account into a lifetime? ;)
 
If you are looking for pro's and cons:

GB only does gathering and generally is much simpler. That also means less downtime after patches. It does flying very well. It does not do any complex combat routines only presses macro buttons at timed intervals. There are no plugins and it can not be customized.
HB is much more complex and highly customizable. But does not do flying (unless you buy the lifetime subscription and that is still in beta). It can pvp, grind, quest, will gather materials if you have any nodes in range, and more.
 
GB can use flying mounts to harvest herbs/mines throughout the world. This is definitely the best choice for gathering.

HB can not use flying mounts (unless you buy Lifetime for 80 EUR (and even then, flying gathering does not work bugfree at all)). HB can grind, do quests, instances, archaeology (again, only for lifetime users), and PvP.

Basically, HB is for leveling characters, GB is for harvesting nodes (GOLDS!)

I am in a bit of a helping mood and thought I would try to explain the differences.

Gatherbuddy is designed solely for the purpose of gathering herbs and minerals (and volatiles with engineering). It is well supported and does a fantastic job at gathering while flying. It has a few downsides in my opinion. #1 it does a fairly weak job of combat. It is all macro based and thus the logic is limited to what you can do in wow macros. Its not bad but you will get slaughtered by a passing elite or PVP battle. #2 it is a monthly subscription. Its only 5 euros if I recall correctly for a month after purchasing the app for 25 (correct me if I am wrong). In summary, Gatherbuddy collects herbs and minerals with a flying mount superbly and is well worth the cost whether it be for personal use (my preference) or gold selling.

Honorbuddy was originally designed as a leveling and PVP grinding bot. I can't speak much for the PVP aspect as I haven't tried it all that much. Honorbuddy is purchased in 1 year increments. It is currently limited in that you can not use flying mounts. The great thing about Honorbuddy is the plugin and class systems. If you peruse the forums you can find numerous classes which is to say a logic/rotation engine for your particular toon's spec. I.E. You can download a class that is specifically written for Demo locks, or for Enhance Shammies or what have you. For the most part they are all great (please note the default ones are pretty good too). Plugins are well.... plugins for the main program. They do extra things like train your new spells as you level, choose and equip quest rewards based on a predetermined stat weighting or even run instances for you (still have to baby sit this a bit still). Honorbuddy is totally worth it if you plan on leveling a toon or grinding out PVP.

GB/HB Lifetime is essentially the best of both worlds. You get 3 sessions (you can run a combo of GB or HB sessions on 3 toons at once). You also get access to the premium plugins and flying mounts. These are the plugins being developed that do some awesome things. The first is the use of Gatherbuddy in Honorbuddy. Now you can have the benefits of awesome combat engines while gathering mats. This means that your bot can run longer and with less supervision. You also get access to the Archeology Buddy plugin. This plugin makes your toon fly around the continent you are on gathering archeology artifacts and leveling up that profession. I've leveled up my main to 525 and have gotten several epics and novelty items. You also can access Auto Angler which will fly you around a given profile and fish in pools. This is awesome for getting achievements or for obtaining volatile water or cooking materials. A lot more plugins are always being developed and its starting to get to a very exciting phase.

If you have purchased either GB or HB you can apply the purchase price of either or both to your purchase of Lifetime. (You can't count the monthly subscription fee towards this.) You can post to the subforum listed below. I highly recommend this as everyone already has. I hope you enjoy.

HB = Unstable *but getting better* bot, cannot be left for days, can only herb/mine etc using ground mount *unless using lifetime, new plugin allows flyign mount use etc, but, again, is buggy*, main purpose is pvp, levelling, item farming.

So, there ya go ;D.

Choose GB if you want a stable product that was built from the ground up to be used for gathering. Choose HB if you want an all in one bot that is still buggy and new to flying, gathering well.


*HB is still a great bot* Hah. Frankly, as I've seen, lifetime is and always will be the best option :).
 
yeah, even simpler (I think):
GB = Fly and very limited combat for self protection only (if your lucky or way overpowered for the mobs, you get to live), only gathers, no mob looting. Comes in 2 version, Standard and Goldseller. Strictly for resource gathering.
HB = No flying. Does everything else. Lots of mods and plugins. Good community support.
 
GB = Stable gatherbot that does what it is supposed to do; gatherstuff.
HB = I do not know what to say. Its like watching drunk monkeys on LSD playing your char.
I actually just watched the bot CRASH on my flying mount, I did not know that was possible.

Honorbuddy does not fly (unless u have lifetime) so, it can't gather. GB can fly though. gb is slowly getting turned into HB to make a single bot (i think?)

i wouldn't recommend running it for days on end though :) but its possible
 
Thanks for the concise replies, guys. Part of my problem was that when I saw the name of HB, I just assumed it was a bg only bot and didn't really read up on it. Think I'll be going lifetime... =)
