Actually its great news because it means Farmer Joe can progress in the direction I want to take it knowing that I'm using a suitable database. Without which a number of features I wanted to would be difficult or impossible to do efficiently.

Well, we must wait but its okay. Its better to wait as FJ has many bugs and is not useable. Hope we can get a chance to see how FJ work at the moment (maybe a new video ). My systems cant waiting to get the new stuff

Today's progress...

Database tables and format almost finalized, if anything is to be changed it will only be minor and should not break anything.
XML files completely removed. Everything is now handled in the database.
Ability to select multiple zones, or a single zone, to fly around. This can span all zones in the continent if you like.
Concurrent database access by multiple characters. You can have multiple characters reading / writing to the database at once. All node map data is at the global level.

This is farming 3 zones in Eastern Kingdoms.

If you want to change where it farms simply select the zone, or zones, from the drop down list.

EDIT: Currently its is randomizing ALL nodes for the selected zones. Node 1 could be in Elwynn, Node 2 could be in Redridge. I'll be including some addition settings such as "Randomize ALL nodes", "Randomize within zone only" and various others.

Must say I have just had a read of all the posts so far and it sounds really quite good I do like the SQL & no profiles route Wish I could help but my own knowledge of SQL and or any kind of programming/scripting is next to nothing

Just a thought fpsware but this project would go very well with the b******n developers, inrego(his buddy forum name) and the others over there have similar projects and with your awesome dev skills you could all make something awesome. Ive been using their stuff for a long time and its done ALOT for my ban ratio but its still at a point of annoying. Maybe you should have a chat with him or pm me i have his skype details i can pass onto to you if ur unable to get in contact with him

Ha! I read this thread every morning after waking up, drinking a cup of coffe.

And every time I'm impressed by the work FPSWare has put into this project. Look at GatherBuddy, it's been this way since forever. Then looking at your UI just amazes me.
I always thought HB devs are way to busy and probably it takes years to build a bot like GatherBuddy, then I see this, kudos to you man!

I'm a little afraid this won't stop the GatherBans though unfortunately, but we will see soon.

Btw. I did read every post in this thread and still haven't found out what your botting times are per day using FarmerJoe, FPS ?

I can't really seeing alot of UI settings being a problem I mean if people can't understand some of the settings you have posted up in the previous UI screenshot then really that's there fault, surely this bots have to have a fair few settings that can be changed manually to make things appear less like a bot and same settings every single person is using./

Did you end up writing it all to SQL? I am working on that today and making relational databases sucks if you have never used SQL before btw =)

Well with botting here's the thing: The more options, the more bots that are different and unique from each other.
Which is naturally a good thing, when trying not to get caught.

But you could always add an "Advanced options" button and keep the actual UI simple. If it's not too complicated to implement.

Btw. you could think about charging for FJ every month, considering lots of people will also be making money off it.
Maybe 5$ a month. That will keep you motivated enough to update and polish it too.
I would be more than willing to pay that, if it keeps the bans from coming my way every 2nd week of botting !

I've considered it, but that would defeat what I'm trying to achieve. And, even at $5 per month a large number of people would still not be able to afford it and continue using GB2.

But, if the developers were to pay me even half of that, $2.50, per month for every person who uses Farmer Joe now that I would accept

If Farmer Joe could be able to reduce greatly the bans, i would gladly pay $5+ /mo for it. Would be nice to farm again like i did before april.
