While I personally think its a good idea, I'm not sure how everyone else will feel about it. And there is no point creating a feature like this is its not going to be used.
Seeking ideas on a shopping list type of function....
My idea, when I want to make gold I look at whats selling for the highest price on the AH, I then have my farmer gather in an area that has those herbs / ore.
But, what if you had a single large node map, each node had the herb/ore name, zone name (and ID) ... and various other required stuff ...
Lets say you want to gather X quantity of Silkweed and X quantity of Snow Lily. So from the UI you select Silkweed & Snow Lily, it show this is available in 3 zones, so you limit the zones to a specific one of your choice, this now leaves you with X number of nodes where Silkweed and Snow Lily were found in the specific zone you selected.
So you hit Start and it only farms in that zone for those herbs. Or, maybe you want to broaden things a little and you include an additional zone.
What do you think?
Sorry I don't understand what you're asking here.I think I understand the way you planed this, but isn't there a possibility of running the exact same waytowards another node a few times?
As often wanted for GB2, do you randomize spots by targeting "a pixel next to it"?
Doesn't Inrego have a ProfessionBuddy profile that he sells to do this? I know that I'd love this feature but I don't want to pay extra for it. My only concern though is that I instantly think every "Profession Kit" seller that spams in /2 is a botter.
On a side note, is there any actual data from power botters on gathering bans?
I really wish that the Buddy Staff would come out and release some information regarding it, but who knows how much any of them actually run a gathering not? Didn't Bossland have hundreds before HB became the main business?
I can only speculate based on experience, but I feel that something really needs to be done to enable the bot to transition from one mode to another and mix and match more intuitively, like a human. I feel it needs to be able to farm properly while queuing for dungeons or LFR, fish and then do a few dailies, all while not having a weird break in between profile swapping. Or perhaps it is all just in the movements.
I had some throwaway accounts this week gathering 24/7 for a few days, 3 to be exact. One was in Northrend, one in Outlands, and the other in Mists of Pandaria. The Outlands bot was online while the other 2 got hit with a ban and is still farming. This doesn't necessarily mean anything, but who knows? I think there needs to be some legit analysis with the Ban Section reports.
tl;dr: I can't farm 24/7, QQ, boo hoo! I would love to have an option to farm specific materials.
Cheers,
XtO
First random round, node is "47.2764" Y="4194.389" X="-1069.422"
Second random round, node is ="47.2764" Y="4194.3
google the name of the profile and you can find it for free.

what I meant was, that the targeted node never ever gets targeted with the same coordinates.
For example:
First random round, node is "47.2764" Y="4194.389" X="-1069.422"
Second random round, node is ="47.2764" Y="4194.390" X="-1069.423"
I know, I got epic paint skiLlZ, but maybe I can visualize it for you like this^^:

I do have one question though:
Can you export the 'discovery mode' database to other characters? I really don't feel like recording node locations for each of my 9 characters in every different zone :/
Is that something I have to do manually or does Farmer Joe do it by itself?
Why not implement a 'profile' that you can use for Discovery Mode and when the 'profile' finishes then Farmer Joe does his magic.
i still suggest some option to "control the quantity" of nodes per hour farmed & waiting some time after.
or atleast some help to count nodes gathered nodes within a plugin & stopping the current botbase for a set amount of time ... yea, that should be an option if you dont wanna implement it![]()
Actually you just have to think of it this way right:
What makes a bot different from a real player? And you can see NPH shouldn't have anything to do with it.
Players who take the time to farm herbs and ores actually get more than 200 NPH so it really shouldn't matter and it should consume you time when writing Farmer Joe.
Randomly landing next to a node, that is something important, since a normal player can't land next to a node at the same spot every single time.
=>When was the last time you gathered on your own and landed right on top of a node, stood on it and mined it? For me that has enver happened tbh.
So randomly approaching a node should be something you could look into.
Kind Regards,
Kj
