which AMD cpu can load more d3?

if given choice of , any idea how much estimate each can run, with minor overclock, provided each of them have say, 12gb to 16gb ram

AMD x4 955, AMD x4 960T(unlock to 6core) or amd Fx8120?

not using db atm but i want to if its avaible again.
i run 4 on a 955 and play 1 - all low rendering and 30fps , low , low and playin one by myself = 5 + music +browser -need more RAM (/e only have 4)

My guess goes with 8120. Checkout d3 benchmarks though. If you're gonna get an. 8 series bulldozer go with the 8150, it's worth it

8150 is a clocked up 8120? Overclock, save 40 bucks, buy more keys :)

thats what i was thinking too, but someone told me he loaded amd x 4 955 with 10 bots and still at 70% cpu load

You can most likely run more with a i5, if thats an option.

Anyhow, the FX CPU is not very good at all. While you may be getting 8 cores, you wont be able to fit more than a i5 3570K quad could at almost the same price, plus the i5 gives better gaming and all round performance.

I think it would be best to grab the 8120 out of the options you picked. But if you do, you will need to grab the 8120 and overclock it like a beast with a very good cooler. Else, the older Phenom range will be better.

Ok here is my 2 cents and experience, I have built two systems to run the bots.

System A:
-FX 8120, Cheapmobo (Asus M8L -- something cant remember off hand) 8GB of ram with Radeon 7770. I am able to run upto 8 bots. Cpu, ram and video load averages around 90-97, so this is very balance and cheap build if u dont plan to go over 8 bots. (u can probably get more if u overclock it) but you need more then 8GB of ram.
everything cost me about $450 ish (had the other other parts such as case hdd cd rom etc)

System B:
-Core i5 3470, some MSI mobo (again forgot name) 16GB of ram, with Radeon 5850, and SSD
cost about 700$ i can run about 12 ish and still have room for a couple more...

In the end its what your needs and requirements are.. with the 8120 you will probably max out around 8 bots

Good post, thanks for the info. There is a lot of speculation about this, it's good to see stats from someone who has actually compared the two. Are you running vms or isboxer/other software? How is your CPU affinity set up?
