Where to start with?

I am a programming student and this year I have the C# and Lua courses. I was so happy that I found HB so I could improve and practise some with it, but now I dont know where to start!
Today I have been looking around, checking out what profiles can do and how they look. After a while I thought I would give it a go, but I have no clue what to make. It doesn't have the be something new or anything, just something that is doable for a enthousiast who is practicing for 2 years now.

Anyone that can give me some tips or pointers?

Start using the bot, while you use it for different purposes(plugins, cc's, botbase, profiles) if something doesn't do something that you want it to:
Example. Say you RaF yourself and plan on using the bot to be your slave, you start searching for a multibox botbase which is ready to run out-of-the-box, can pickup quests that your master picks up, you want it to pick up quest items from the ground, you want it to loot, you want it to skin, you want it to mow your lawn. While you search for this godlike botbase, u'll notice that it is pretty scarce with these kind of botbases.
What do you do?
a. (The most common thing) Post on the botbase's thread which was last updated 10 months ago urging the developer to add this or that feature.
b. Download it and fit the botbase to your needs but not release it since you have no permission from the author because he/she doesn't play anymore.
c. Write your own botbase where you tailor it to fit you like your skin and release it in-case someone like you stumbles upon it.
d. Write your own robust botbase where others can contribute and improve it with a open-source license.
e. Write an angry email to the Buddyteam stating that you want them to mow your lawn since there is no plugin that does this.

Replace the word botbase to whatever you want to do.

Short reply:
Use the bot and you will find stuff that don't fit your needs and go from there.

Ofcourse, that is what I normally do, and from time to time I overflow with idea's. Though then I notice the lack in technical skills to realize the idea. Thats why I need practise.

Well developing plugins/cc's are not something you can just jump-in and make wonders. Since i have no idea how much programming knowledge you have at this point i could say that you start with profiles if you really want to contribute, but if you really want to make those botbase/cc/plugins then i would say that you should make some programs for yourself.
Think from an user-perspective where a developers tosses Thread.Sleep(10000) inside Pulse() to make a simple action, what would you do as a user if you found out that lets say my plugin consisted of bad-practice code and a lot of newbie mistakes?

I don't realy get your question. But the reason i'm asking here is because I dont want to (and not able to) jump into big projects. Maybe ill start with making a multi zone profile with GB/Mail/Vendor support or something. But I dont have da ideaz!

Profiles don't really need dev skills other then pb.

I would suggest you to look at existing plugins/CCs and evene the startup guide by codenameg.

Then if you find a cc, you can start alterin it for your style.

After a while you can start your own project.

This is how many havE done it and since you already have practice it shouldn't be that hard.

Hmm okay, I'll give it a shot. Shame that my bot is a pally and its the only class I dont know how to play! xD

@Gideonnn,

Find a class you can play > Make a quick personal CC to do basic things (apply personal buff, drop totems, use insti spells) > lean the cans and can'ts > build it bigger > if your's is actually different and you feel so bold release it.
