When Will Botting Be Safe?

I'm honestly scared to use honorbuddy at all after all of these bans people keep reporting about. When will honorbuddy be safe to use? I'm honestly considering purchasing another bot due to all this noise of banning. I don't want to get the other bot but it seems it's my only choice for botting. Even when I did use honorbuddy I didn't do any hardcore farming, only fishing and dark moon faire crates. Most people here are reporting that it's gatherbuddy but I can't be too sure anymore.

Another bot won't help you from player reports, it is as safe as it ever was. It just that blizzard has significantly up their war against bots in Mists of Pandaria. I'd also stick with honorbuddy, since its the best bot on the market right now.

Well nobody knows exactly what blizzard methods are, but we do know they are targeting botters harder now with all the attention from real players and the amount of people botting these days.

From the first day the first bot ran on a live WoW server botting was not safe..

Botting has never been safe..

The only time it will be safe is if Blizzard announces its intention to no longer ban/suspend players for using any sort of additional software & explains they may do so as they please because our user base is more important to us now than the losses we'd take from those players that don't return after bans..

I hope that day never comes because the price of gold will be worth NOTHING.

You're absolutely right about botting not being safe at all. I should've reworded my paragraph. What I originally meant was is that we're in a higher than normal risk in the last few months regarding bans. I just want to know what's the best course of action I can take in regards to botting/farming so my account does not get banned.

If you don't want the account banned I wouldn't bot on it. You should buy a separate account to bot. Also make your bot look like a legitimate played account. Don't do the same thing for long periods of time, switch it up and don't bot 24/7.

Life is full of risks and the associated rewards. I enjoy WoW much more now that I bot. If it were not for HB, I would have left WoW a long time ago. F*ck Blizz and their war on bots, that can't catch all of us (and they really don't want to either imho - bad for business). Just dont bot on an account that you care about. Buy a new account(s) and bot on that 1. Pay for it with the gold you receive from botting - cyclic process.

Store away gold to buy more accounts when you get banned. If/when you get banned, get mad, laugh it off, go buy more accounts, & keep botting.

IMHO:
Actually Blizzard could ban every botter, they don't because theese bots bring the money and make economy run in game as well. Blizzard made a game for bots, because to be successful in it you should be a bot (literaly).
If they ban all the botters, they will also ban players (raiding one's) who use other software that are not 100% related to botting (CombatBot for example and similar).
Because in a term of usebase or money - they could ban every bot, and 90% would return buying new game - it's not a loss for Blizz, but win. So the main reason i think, they don't give a fuck about bottig actually, but player reports make them banning bots and they do that.
So, botting as safe as Blizzard want's it to be.

I currently bought a 5$ battlechest account (No Cata or MoP) when it went on sale (March 1st?) and I have RAF currently enabled and also an account I bought from the previous year with RAF now expired and I bought MoP expansion with it. Which account would be best to bot on? I was thinking of leveling up manually to 80 with RAF enabled and botting from there on.

There will always, ALWAYS be fear mongering going on. You can never know for sure the true circumstances behind someones ban report. For instance they may say they botted casually for 4 hours a day, but in reality have been botting in Valley of the Four Winds for the last 48 hours straight and flooding the auction house with ores and herbs. Take all those ban reports with a grain of salt.

As far as keeping safe, obviously the fastest way is to not bot at all, or not bot on your main account and buy a second account as mentioned above. If you want to keep botting on your main make it look real, no "real" person will farm in the same zone for 18 hours straight...

1. Do not flood the AH with your mats, EVER.
2. Consider getting crafting professions to turn your raw mats in to other items, so you can unload safer (in more markets).
3. Baby sit the Bgbuddy at all times, its 100% noticeable its a bot, (Bot trains).
4. Join a raid group, do a LFR, run dungeons, talk in guild, pvp with lazyraider (you do movements), pet battle............... Honestly mix it up, mix all your behaviors up, always.

If you just want to farm for hours on end, get another account and farm with it until its banned.

How did you work out its a higher than normal risk in the last few months? I mean did you actually manage to collate every ban against active accounts and subjectively work out the differential between a time point a few months ago to now?
Or was that one of those "I'm making up stats posts".

HonorBuddy itself is safe, Blizzard can't legaly detect that you are useing HonorBuddy.
That being said, botting isn't safe, no matter what bot you use, Blizzard can by different methods detect that you are using a bot, but never know that it was Honorbuddy.
Example :
You are running GB2 and gathering herbs.
1) A GM teleports you inside a hut, you instantly start to run towards the wall (there is a way to talk yourself out of that one).
2) A GM teleports you inside a hut, bot finds the exit, mount up and instantly continue to farm herbs.
If you where playing by hand and you get teleported, wouldn't you react to it ?
In example 1, you claim that you had put on autorun, you got teleported and autorun was still active so it just kept running towards the wall...

A other example, a GM "spy" on your charcter while you are using GB2, nomatter how big the profile is, you take more or less the exact same path over and over and over, no human is that good at following the same path like that.

But no, Blizz can't legaly say that they are 100% sure you are using honorbuddy, they can suspect it and do everything they can to see if you react as a human played character and based on that ban you. But they can't say, we know you are using HonorBuddy therefor we ban you.
