What's your preferred way to earn gold?

Hey guys, I was wondering what you find more successful to farm. Do you mine/herb/skin? Do you just farm for items, certain spots? Do you like finding niches to gain the most in a shorter period of time?

At first I wanted to create a thread to find out if skinning is worth doing or if I should move on to herb+mining but thought it might make a good discussion thread.

I've done skinning a lot and I'm making a fair amount of money. I've been struggling with herbing+mining since I don't have flying in draenor yet. The toon can get stuck, aggro hard mobs and just generally get slowed down. However, with skinning it's a constant stream of material, if you do it in Nagrand you get a gold boost from the bones. The skins and fur also sells really quickly on AH for me. Back in earlier days I always kept getting flooded by herbs and mines, I couldn't get rid of it all since there's so much competition on AH. I've also used it in combination with inscription/letherworking/blacksmithing but I'm struggling finding a direct way to turn my mats into gold. Maybe I just haven't looked far and hard enough!

So what's your preferred way to earn money? Obviously, you don't have to release information regarding your positions, items or whatnot. Just generally.

There are many different ways to make gold. You could:
-Transmog and Twink Item Farm
-AH Flipping
-Fishing
-Cooking
-Gathering
-Crafting
-Old Raid/Dungeon Clearing
-Garrison
-PvP/PvE Carries
-Pet Farming and Leveling

Also I want to add, get flying asap, because Tanaan is going to make you more gold because of the felblight drops.

Thanks! Ok, I am going to buy Medallion of the Legion to gain flying. I'm waiting for this saturday so I can get the 10% reputation from Darkmoon buff and maybe I can manage getting Trading post 3 as well. One thing that's missing is the daily apexis called "The pit". I can only receive this from *my own* planning table in garrison, right?
 
Correct, "The Pit" can only be picked up from the table, but come next patch there will be a missive for it. Also www.wowhead.com/flying will tell you what you are missing if you don't already know.
 
Webhond - mind if I ask how you've used it to make gold - i'm struggling with it atm.
 
also did you start with a chunk of capital or did you start with barely any gold and make more and more?

Not sure what you mean by "how". The "how" is easy. Buy low and sell higher for profit. That's really what TSM is designed for. To make it easier to scan for specific things, buy or snipe them, and then list them. It's a pain in the ass to get set it up and get proficient at, but once you do making gold flipping is easy. The things that are going to effect how much money you make using TSM are:

-Your market economy
-Your competition at the AH
-Your bankroll
-The amount of time you have to spend at the AH each day

Personally, I only use TSM for about ten minutes in the morning and ten minutes at night to search for mounts, pets, herbs, ores, and gear and weapons upgrades that are listed significantly below market value. Between Garrisons and HB I have neither the need nor the desire to spend any more time at the keyboard than I already do.

I also enjoyed having tons of level 100s clearing Garrison, granted I only had ~8 characters clearing Garrison. But it was enough for me to earn 300k gold. Had I not been banned in the banwave I would probably have hit goldcap a couple of times by now. If you're a girl, you can find a guild and speak on teamspeak and get showered in items and gold, you can also pretend to be a girl and get the same effect. Some guilds will require you to flash tits before any gifting can commence, though.
 
do you use garrisonboss lipstick?
I'm umming and ahhing about using it : /
