What's up with gathering?

I been away, have I missed something?. I gathered few bags of ore and herbs then didn't get even one bag full after 2 hours...Has blizz broke it?

This has been talked about in several threads already but I'll update you:

Mining and Herb spawn rates in Pandaria have been reduced by approximately 50% in patch 5.1, and this is indeed an intended change. These are in addition to the hotfix that was applied in 5.0.5 to lower the spawn rate of Ghost Iron.

In all of these cases, the reduction was prompted because the resources were too abundant, resulting in ore and herbs being undervalued, and also therefore the effort that our herbalists and miners put in to collect each node. We’ll be monitoring the situation, though, and should the current rates prove to be too low then we’ll make further adjustments as necessary.

funny enough i dont notice the nerf in spawns, my bags are still getting filled just as fast as pre-nerf. Both herb and mining

You're just better than everyone else.

OP: it was nerfed by 50% in 5.1 which was like 2 weeks ago, just as amputaitons said

Ok thanks, I bought some of those engineering goggles that let's you see extra nodes to try make up for the low rate, but they seemed useless also.

The only statistics in wowhead data:
"I've used these quite a bit now but not in a huge variety of locations, so I can't speak generally about how they work. My guess is that there are an extra 5-10% 5-7% nodes available to people who have these glasses in their inventory."
