It only costing me 65K gold to buy 30 days???

When did this happen and why would Blizzard do this? Aren't they losing sales since gold is much cheaper to buy or farm then it is to pay??????

I am confused...... Surely WoW go bankrupt doing this?? Am I missing something???? Holy.

Sorry for being noob.

You buy the game time from other players, so the game time is already paid for. This actually makes MORE money for Blizzard, not less, since the cost of the game time is higher than the usual cost of a subscription.

What do you mean? When I tried to login to some of my old accounts it said expired, and gave me the option to pay just 65,000 gold to get 30 days!

Pretty simple. to buy such a gametime token somebody has to sell it.
blizzard sells tokens for 20$. blizzard is not selling gametime.
somebody needs to buy this token from blizzard for 20$. if this person bought it, it can be sold in the auction house.

now somebody buys it for 65k gold and gets 30 days of gametime.

win win win situation.
Blizzard gets 20$ for the token
the token buyer gets 65k gold (right now)
the gametime buyer gets 30 days

But I didn't do such a thing.

All I did was try to login to my account and this popped up.

So the gold just goes to Blizzard...... This is too cheap to be true?? I already bought it on one account to confirm, most of mine didn't have enough gold.

Gold doesnt go to blizzard.

1-Blizzard sells the token for 20$
2-Player1 pays 20$ to blizzard and gets the token
3-Player1 puts the token to AH for current gold price(lets say 65k)
4-Player2 buys token from AH with 65k Gold

So;

-Player1 gets 65k gold for 20$
-Player2 gets 30 days of gametime for 65k
-Blizzard gets 20$ for 30 days of gametime

It's something like exchanging currencies.

But isn't 65k only like $1????

I have never seen it that cheap.

And either way Blizzard is getting paid, as someone is giving them money, be it the token Seller is giving them 20 Dollars, or the player giving them 15

I'd love to see where you can buy 65k for a buck. The cheapest I can find is $18-20 for 60k, which puts it at almost the exact same cost as buying a token from Blizz.

Gold sellers may pay you a buck for 65k, but you most definitely can't buy it at that price.

Ah you are right my bad.

I have a bunch of other accounts that don't have 65K gold -- is there anyway to get gold on them? They are not linked to a guild or anything..

Without being too complex. It basically works like this:

You can buy gametime for gold.
Blizzard sells gold

These two are not dependant on each other, blizzard will sell gold even if no one buys game time. Since blizzard knows that more people will buy gold than those that buy game time its a win win situation.

Why is it a win win situation? Because blizzard fools everyone with low IQ that they aren't really selling any gold.

Best thing you can do is make an alt on a high pop server, find a private supplier and just buy gold/tokens with that alt. It's not hard to find someone who sells 100k for 20-30$
