Since the beginning of cata, raising a toon (either faction) from 70 to 80 has become a pretty long process (even with instancing). Point is... yeah ya can still raise a toon darn fast to 85 if you know what you're doing, but the longest part of raising the toon comes between 70 and 80, especially if like me, you REFUSE to do any type of pvp Bgs.
From my observation and from use of many of the profiles available, in short, they are just plain outdated and judging from all the differing messages that I see in the Newest HB while running them, it isn't going to be too long, till about every profile in this place that is available and works now, won't work at all.
Most of them want you to grind for two full levels from 68 to 70 and there is absolutely no reason to have to grind those two levels. (The overallconsensus I've seen says that grinding is the easiest way to be banned.) Your toon can pick up many quests at 68 inBorean Tundra and or Howling Fjord and do them, but no profile I've run acrossyet, will do this at level 68. In most of the profiles available, it has seemedto make no difference what one does to omit this grinding step, because whenyou try to, the profile then becomes useless to the new HB.
Now I've tried to make a few profiles, but my skill level inxml just isn't enough. Though I try.
I understand that anyone who uses HB, wants to use it for grinding mats and other things, rather than to use it and jeopardize their account for the mere purpose of profile writing. After all, you do have to connect HB to write a profile and everyone knows that once you do, wither botting or using it to profile write, you are putting your account at risk. Most will opt for using and jeopardizing their account for gain... rather than to profile write. Yes, some of the profile writing can be done without the use of HB, but not enough that you can write a complete profile and have HB work with it.
But in a nut shell, if those that have the "know how"and abilities don't' start working on new profiles, then it won't matter how good HB is or can become. You won't be able to use it for questing, nor will those that have no clue how to write profiles be able to use it for such. Many people of the HB community, rely on the graciousness of those that can. So what's it gonna be? Only those that can write profiles and xml are going to be the only ones buying HB? Cuz I've seen plenty of posts asking for new profiles, which means to me, either they that ask, have no clue how to write xml or they are lazy and they want to quest with it.
I'm not lazy. I write every gathering profile I use. But I do not have the know how to write a questing profile. Smarter people than me have done that for me and I certainly thank all of you that have, but folks ! These old outdated questing profiles will soon enough be nothing more than garbage. And no. WoW isn't going anywhere for a while still depite those preaching it is. Probably years. Hate on me and argue all your differing points you want to, till your brain falls out.. But I know what I see and have spoken it via this typed message. We really need new, well developed, questing profiles for both factions. And please don't be trying to tell me and others that they are already available. I've looked at the largest majority of them in this forum and have tried them and no they are not. And yes, I've spent days and hours looking through the wiki section (Great efforts but a whole lot is not there.) and goggle trying to figure it all out on quest profile writing. Nope it still gets away from me, hard as I try to figure it out. Okay so I admit it. I'm stupid.
