what is framelock?

i searched the forums and couldnt find anything on it. i know alot of botbases and cc's have it. but what is framelock? and what is it for? should i be using it? i use Tyrael for raiding and it has a framelock option, and im wondering if i should be using it. it is off by default.

edit: with framelock off, my cc's run perfectly fine. no lag. so im just kinda curious.

I think it has something to do with some CCs perhaps causing lag or issues and a framelock could fix this.
Personally I have never had any issues with laggy CCs and mines set to 60FPS, I've read people saying setting higher than 30fps can cause lag but I have never experienced any.
If it works off just let it run I guess.
