What dose Mount Distance in the settings change ?

I was wondering it made the mount fly higher in the air?

I think it controls the distance to the next objective before it will use a mount.

it controls how long the distance is to the next point if it needs to mount, so if the thing it needs to move to is 30 yards and you have it set at 20, it will mount to move to it. or if its set at 19 and the thing is 20, then it will just walk.
