Don't know but I like Nvidia

the gtx is about 20% faster.

But both will play ALL upto date games on ultra graphics at 60+ fps

The radon will be better if your playing on more than 1 screen and running at max resolution in games.

if ur gonna go with that system... get an i7 and 16gb ram (4gb ram sticks are 20-25$ each)

The i7 is the only considerable increase in price when looking at these setups. The ram is dismissible, and should be 16gb to match the CPU abilities.

looking into cost wise if you buy wisely you can get a decent deal on that build however my build was only a few hundred more (minus the cost of processor) but i suggest getting a 990x if you can over a sandybridge.
my build cost 3800 and i got
i7 990x hex core
24g corsair XMS3 ram
asus sabertooth MOBO
Radeon HD 6990
1000w Modular PSU (Corsair)
NZXT Phantom tower
2x 1tb 7200 rpm 64mb cache Raid 0 drives
2x 2tb 6400 rpm 32mb cache Raid 1 Drives (for storage)
and just a regular LG dvd rw read/writer.

overall if you shop around you can get good deals and save money i got a little impatient coulda saved more but still got good deals on most parts.

in the end im running BF3 at 190 FPS average on ultra and i plan on putting another 6990 in, and ive spent almost half of what i would going with alienware and getting a shittier build

Meh that build is just like mine. Besides for the fact I got the i5 2 years ago and is a slower version then that. And I just shelled out $600 for a 580.... Lol oh well. No one said PC gaming is cheap.

my case looks like a gay parade not because i chose the LED fans its because i went looking for the highest CFM fance in each size that i could find unfortunately 4 out of 7 of them were all blue LED fans

You dont need a $1000 system to do that.

A quad core pc with 4gb ram and a radeon 6850 will get you max graphics if you just run the one world of warcraft.

That shouldnt set you back more than $500 ;]

my buddy is running a shit system with a 450w psu and 4 gigs of ram all i did was stick a radeon 6770 in there and hes running BF3 on high at 60 fps, so you could literrally build a pc that can run anything now and days for like 500 to 600 bucks

that setup will get you on high graphics on new games like mw3 gta v e.t.c aswell at high fps :}

Unless this is a build for a 50 account PC, he really doesn't need 16GB of ram or an i7 that will add a good $1k+ price tag, over kill.

I have 16 gig's mem, running 3 VM's/Bot's i have about 3-4 gigs left. Ram is cheap, why skimp.

GTX 580 SINGLE is not worth the money, those cards are meant for at least two-way SLI. Neither is 6970 when you can buy a 6950 and flash the bios to make it a 6970 for free.

I'd rather go 6950 Crossfire or 560 Ti SLI and 2500k Then a single gpu and 2700k. I suppose you are gonna play more games then WoW. Overclocking the 2500k to 4ghz wont take many minutes either.

Quit the lies. A 6770 wont run bf3 at 60 if you with a decent monitor (1920+, 2500 more or less standard today).

190fps on low/1280x1024 resolution?

considering that i put the 6770 in his pc and checked it, its not a lie.
and 1920-1080 is what my 6990 runs it at ultra with 190 fps
