What dependencies are needed?

After running BuddyWizard and restarting, I'm still unable to run Hearthbuddy.
It crashes with an empty logfile. I'm on Windows 8.1, 64bit.
I've used Honorbuddy on this very same system before; I've just been using HB since way back when the installer worked. After reformatting, now it's not playing nice.

remove:
- microsoft visual c++ 2005-2015 x86 redistributable
restart your pc,
install https://www.thebuddyforum.com/BuddyWizard.exe
restart
also check if you have any of the programs listed here BosslandGmbH:HelpDesk

"The update corresponding to KB2919355 needs to be installed before you can install this product on Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2. "
So, I'm installing that and hopefully that will fix the dependency chain and let this all work. I'll post any further manual intervention I have to take so hopefully the BuddyWizard can be a full troubleshooting tool; if I don't post after this, assume this single download fixed the rest.
