I was bidding on an item. I was maintaining my max bid to make sure I maintained highest bid even if the auction got sniped. Every time I put my max bid up, within an hour some1 would bid it up to that. The auction would go right to where I set my max bid every single time.

Is my max bid stored in the memory of the computer that has the listing? Seems extremely fishy how that happened.

seems right to me, by max bid do you mean the next top increment?

e.g.: current price, 100k

I bid 1 million

If some1 bids 700k, it will auto bid me 1 higher than them.

how can they bid 700k, if you already bid 1mil. they would get the "bid too low" notification.

Yes, but auctions only go in single increments.
Therefore, it will increase your bid when someone attempts to outbid you, even if it says their bid is too low.

if that were the case, then people would be bidding on their own items then jacking up the price in the last min.

I don't often bid on items, but i remember one time i bid on a weapon which was at about 80 million. I put up my max bid of 130 million and in the last minute it went up to exactly 130 million, so i had to pay exactly what my max bid was set to. I'm thinking there might be a way to push peoples bids to their max, no idea how this could be done though.

it could simply be that somone bid 120m and the next increment was beyond 130m, but since you already bid it at that amount it defaulted to that.

Your bid doesn't go up when someone makes a lower bid.. Where on earth did you get that from?
