Was afk using GB2 in Hyjal for herbs and when I got back I saw this message on the shutup! plugin log:

05.14.2011 - 16:16 - WHISPER - Inspection : Dear player, your account has been the subject of complaints from several other players. You are required to validate your account within an hour or you may experience service interruptions. Please validate your account at <edit>

Think it is a hack? Never heard of this before...

Lol how could u even think that is real?

Edit: also just think about it. You need to verify your account info because players have complained about you? The scanner should think of a better lure for his phishing

Edit2: lol he doesn't even use your name/character's name? Stupid mass whisper

You have probably bought gold before and it is the farmers trying to "hack" you by phishing for your user/pass and other details. Do not ever think anything besides a character name with a "blizzard" tag attached to it is an employee at all.

just get youre self addon badboy lvl 1 players can send you a message

look at the sender.

it says blizzard, but the 'a' has a dot above it..

hes been running for about 5 days..

Ansa, look if it says BLIZZARD in BLUE it will be an official blizzard employee. It is a scammer trying to phish for details. That person has nothing to do with blizzard and they would use battle.net to do anything not some third-party domain. These are corporations, not lower ends of the totem pole. Also, if you do a whois lookup on the domain name I'm sure you will find out it was somebody from another country when everyone and everything to do with blizzard is from California. I'm not sure about the Europeans but I would believe they're based in a specific location also.

Anyhow this is a scam. No company at anytime would ask you for any personal details in order to "verify" anything. Okay? Keep that in mind at all times when dealing with anything online. They do this with Paypal, banks, etc. Anything vitial this is how these idiots target people. Also, why would they contact you in game? If there was a problem everything would be done automatically and your battle.net account locked until you go through there process. You would also be dispatched an email disclosing the exact problem.
