Water elemental freeze bug

Hi

Im having trouble with my mage not using the water elemental freeze thing. He clicks it and gets that big circle but he doenst place the freeze anywhere on the ground. Or he does it sometimes, but mostly he doenst do anything and just stands there and my pet dies.
