[Warlock CC] skiWarlock 4.0 - ALL TREES -

Not open for further replies.
skiWarlock] Affliction looks pretty good. It keeps up Shadow Embrace and has pretty damn high uptimes on the rest of the dots without clipping BoA. Should be good enough. Now to test the AoE/Multi Target of all 3 specs and then add the soulfire mechanic.

What's the raw DPS of the Affliction spell rotation without a pet? Looks really good, tho.

Plus I love seeing how it only casts corruption once, since it is being kept up by all of the various other casts.

With my gear ~8k.

Meant to ask again... Have you seen any way to check to see if a target is a Boss type or not (since that is differentiated in game)?

I don't think there's a difference between an elite mob and a boss. You can get the unit classification (normal, elite, rare, ..., worldboss), but I think only worldbosses have a skull instead of their lvl in the target frame.

Ski, I see you closing threads left and right, and I know your around, how's the warlock CC comming, sir? Still got a 74 warlock now that would love it :P

Probably this weekend I'll have a test release out. Got a lot of work and drama to deal with before I can sit down and code for a few hours again.

That's really good, That means I can get him to 80 before Cata, thanks man. Always look forward to your's, FPSware's, and Mordd's work the most! (and that drunk guy wherever he is)

I just realized something that all three spec's can use now that wasn't dealt with in the previous version (due to the way they were before)...

The two "new" damage pets... The Doomguard and the Infernal can be used anytime now as they are just cooldown based damage adds (like the Shaman elemental summons, etc). So some thought will have to go into how to use them correctly to better bump up our DPS (no matter what spec). Obviously you want them to be up as much as possible, but using them in simple trash mobs is a bit of a waste.

Maybe have a timer count to see how long you've been in combat and fire them off after you've bee in for more then X seconds or something like that...

They are crap to handle as they barely attack unless you cast a bane on a target.

I'm using the doomguard in my CC, but it currently spends its time watching my toon trying to kill mobs. Better use them on elites/bosses.

The infernal is quite interesting as its aoe stun when it spawns makes it grab aggro, though.

Well yeah, figured that for the bigger guys they would be better used as you should be throwing a Bane on anything that doesn't die in under 15 seconds *anyway*. =)

I haven't had a chance to play around with them much, but I just remembered that we haven't talked about them here yet... So working on logic for the Doomguard would be something to look into... With the bot it can make sure that you've got at least one Bane out there before casting it, for example.

The Infernal could be kept as an "oh shit!" button for if things go south, maybe, when you're in a group. Otherwise it would be perfectly used if you're solo and you are AE'ing things anyway.

Sorry for the delay, was working until Midnight every day this weekend on my new house. I'll have a test release tonight, though it is definitely missing some features that I haven't gotten completely working yet:

- Soul Shards
- Infernal/Doomguard
- Full IB support

And the Metamorphosis AoE abilities (Demon Leap, Immo Aura, Shadow Cleave) are kind of fucked up, but they will work if you're close enough to a group of mobs.

Can't wait to try it out, even in this state.

When you do release it, I *highly* recommend writing up a "first post" explaining what the logic is between the various specs (like how a Destro lock would work versus a Dotlock, etc). As well as document if there are any changes to the variables, etc, etc...

Basically I'd treat it almost as a brand new release.

There will be a new thread too, so I can read things easier. The only design choice I'm trying to work out is More Options or Less Options. Right now I have like 50 settings that control every single aspect of the bot (naturally you can save and load settings profiles and all that). Its smart enough to throw out some settings if you configure it wrong (like if you set Chaos Bolt to True as Demo, it knows not to even try). I think I'll make a basic settings section that has things most people may want to change, and an advanced settings section that only some people will want to change.

sounds great, wish i knew more about programming a gui. your last lock cc was the best, i'm sure this will be the next.

Yeah, while thedrunk brought a lot to this .cc file, the GUI he added made it SO much easier to use.

Which is why I spent 3 days trying to figure out how he coded it (hint: very oddly) instead of scrapping it :P

Yay! (filler)

EDIT: Oh, and hopefully in your version it won't crash HB if you do an edit while it is actively running. =)

I've noticed that a continuable error comes up sometimes on one or two of the settings, but for the most part I change it a lot while its running.
