Warden VS Honorbuddy?

Actually changing the name of the Honorbuddy.exe does change it in your process list. Mine say's i'm running microsoft word

I do rename the exe and still always shows up as "Honorbuddy.exe" in my process list. Was trying to figure out a way to change the process identification but gave up even though I do still rename the exe.

I would deleted WoW_64 and launch the game directly from the 32 bit client and only launch the game from battle.net only when the game needs to be updated.

I do the same and only run Battle.net when I have to update WoW. I don't trust Battle.net for anything. And I sure do not trust Blizzard since they can ban your account and not even give you a reason why much less even notify you. So they may be bound by law not to scan outside their processes and use that as a means to ban you, but you will never know.

I sure miss the old day of downloading individual patches.

Awesome thanks for the tip. Oh, I used to work a lot with Even Balance. I was a staff member at -ACI- for years. PunkBuster is evil to hackers lol...

People tend to forget that even though the EULA might state they're allowed to do certain stuff, Blizzard still has to abide by the law of the country they operate in. Most countries in the world simply do not allow such personal data to be collected by a third party, hence why we can be certain that they don't know you're running Honorbuddy.exe on your system.

And even IF they know, they simply cannot use this data to judge you, as they're not allowed to know.

Like anyone ganna bring them to court if they dooo..... lol

warden isnt allowed to scan outside of WoW. so it cant do a blind scan for process names so your safe.
i could go into a lot of detail of how honorbuddy does its thing, but ultimately you just need to know this.
we haven't had a single banwave from warden, and its detection methods.
and blizzard had to sue us to get us to stop.
so obviously if they could of stopped us they would of a long time ago.

the only way you would get banned now, is from player reports or not botting safely, like gathering nodes for hours on end in a place thats really populated.

So i'm not trying to be difficult, i just really want to talk about your comment.

So if we're not getting detected, we're not being scanned, then the way blizzard is goinf after us is through unsafe botting methods with a lot of it base upon user reporting etc...

So I have to ask, why is arena botting the scapegoat when it is probably the second hardest to detect behind raiding? Both are manual and really difficult to detect.

The ones that create both the most reports and the where blizzard can gather the most data are clearly the BG automated bots, the ashran full afk bots, the gathering bots(including arch, etc..) and the Questing bot. Those are the ones that drive the reports for botting and the way Blizzard is able to profile us.

The botting that is detrimental to other botters are anything is either 1) fully afk and easily noticeable by other players or 2)Clearly exploit the economy. Yet neither one of these were addressed first by the HB team. They went after arenas on a technicality.

I just dont understand how CodenameG can say something like this that makes sense and reflects what so many of us feel yet completely contradicts with the decision to remove the ability to play manually in arenas...

Funny. If you go to battle.net and search the forums, you see a ton of complainrs about PvP but not that many about quest bots...

Again, their decision was about lowering the footprint of Honorbuddy on Blizzard's radar by closing off the ability of a portion of the bot that was unsupported. It was only a portion of the issues that brought Honorbuddy to the attention of Blizzard's focus and decisions are still being made. They just wanted to eliminate that unsupported area to reduce the friction Honorbuddy's attention was getting. As killajosh said, just go look at the Blizzard forums. There are tons of complaints about Arena botting. And since that portion was already unsupported...

there are over 4,000 search results for arena bot. Try finding close to that for questing bots...

Arenas have never been supported by HB but a lot of the CR do make it possible for you to use HB in arenas and i dont know about you but even if you dumb it down a lot you can still pick out a bot in arenas 9 out of 10 times i am not saying that is not true when it comes to pve i go into a raid and by the time the first boss is down i know who is running a bot for CR just by pulling up logs but no one cares in pve so you out did me in dps the boss is still down we still got loot but you beat someone in pvp using a bot and it the end of the world and i am going to run and cry to daddy (blizzard) as for farming everyone knows that people farm with bots there are 100's on every server you go to but i know this everyone that bitched and cried saying bots were killing the wow economy go on your server and check the price of crafting mats and they have all more than doubled since HB went down and tokens have bombed since there are no bots to buy them up to pay for their subs
