There's been quite a bit of talk regarding the benefits of VM and VPN could anyone spare the time to talk a noob like myself through the steps to set one up.

I realise they do not offer 100% protection, but the more I can get the better!

100% protection from what? not getting your main banned or getting banned and being able to say you got hacked? I'm having the same problems, it seems to me like the guys who are hardcore botters dont want you to know how they get away with it for so long cuz they want us newbs to get popped and keep blizzard busy. I mean im sure they are running bots on all the servers and have websites up to sell gold so why would they further help us to be in competition with them? when newb botters get caught, all the gold on their account is gone from the economy forever thus increasing the price of gold which is a very good thing. The big issue is not getting all accounts caught and banned at once for botting. It seems like if you ran your bots in a vm and used a vpn that you would seperate yourself from your other bot accounts or main, but there are other ways to get yourself linked to your main like using the same cc info, name/bnet acct, giving your main free stuff etc. If your going to bot on your main i would use a vpn when you do it so you can use the "i got hacked" excuse, but come on now its still obvious so the best thing imo would to have a seperate account for botting and then i can only think of 2 ways to transfer the goods and not get caught 1. send the stuff to a lvl 1 which can be deleted after the transaction idk if this works or makes you look more suspicous. 2. use the auction house to do money/item transactions and pay 5% loss, but from my xp buying an expensive item can get you auto banned.
My question is do i need a static ip for my vm/vpc accounts? i havent found a clear answer about the troubles of your ip changing everytime you d/c and most vpns dont support static ips or the ones that do are too expensive, so never turn off your vpn?
This shit is expensive cuz you have to pay for another copy of windows + the vm + the vpn + the god damn bot again. so id really like to know if seperates your other accounts 100% or not. and please dont give me a newb yes or no answer, please someone that really knows what they are talking about answer this in enough detail to make me a believer I would greatly appreciate it tyvm
