Hi Guys,
i am planning to expand a bit in a few weeks. I was thinking like a 2-CPU setup with i7 to support about 10+ VMs.
What do u think? Is it possible to pass through internal i7 gpus to VMware vSphere Hypervisor (the free ESXi version) VMs?
Is it enough power for this amout of distributed 3d applications?

Any input from experienced guys running a similar setup would be greatly appreciated! (shaliuno maby?)
Thanks in advance!

How much ram are you using to run 8 bots?

What is your exact Computer setup?

Thanks for the fast answer, that clears things up. I think i will just stick with a dual cpu board with one cpu and graphics card for now. If i feel its not enough i can easily upgrade to a second cpu and maby sli/crossfire a second graphics card if needed.

I'm currently dedicating 1.5gb memory to each SS and theyre all ending up with 'your computer is low on memory. save your files and close these programs: Diablo iii'

Any idea why it's leaking like that? i've got the clients at 100x100 size, low graphics, on that really trim win7 install, etc

if you intend to use esxi forget it, you cant share the gpu, only thing that might work is directpath and share a dedicated gpu to 1 vm.. but in that case you have to get 1gpu for each vm, and even that is not guaranteed to work, theres no support for passing gpu through iommu/vt-d
