VMware and safe botting

It's been a week after my farm (10 accounts) got banned and i decided to put some effort into the second try. I'm runnin virtual machine now with windows 7 on it (for different MAC), bought hidden vрn with stable different ip, cleared everything from my host system, downloaded new client and got two new accounts. The main problem is it lags like shit, 1-10 fps not to mention 600-1800 ping. So my question: is VMware even capable to run several 3d applications with comfortable performance?

I was able to run 10 windows of wow and 10 hb clients on my PC with no problems at all, was about 25% of memory and 30% is CPU usage.

I gave 2 cores and 4gb for my VM and it seems like it's gonna die at any moment, everything is slow as shit. My guess is VM needs some video memory for this stuff and VMware workstatin tools doesn't provide such option.

My config:
CPU Intel(R) Core i7-3770K @ 3.50GHz
Video NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (2048 MB)
Memory 16 GB

Any VMware users here who can help?
 
vm does not make botting any more or less saver.

Its the behaviour ingame thats what gets you
 
Yes i know that every virtual machine makes my botting 2 times more saver, and yes, i can use the search and google.

But my question is still as above, are here any VMware users and how do you struggle against low fps and lack of video memory on it?

I just completed setting my VMware up and I had great issues just like you.

For me using 2 cores and 2GB memory for each vmware works great, its not flawless but its good enough.

Then you need to walk thru all steps in this guide. Make sure your windows resulotion is at it lowest, wow res lowest, turn off ALL windows extra graphics, change to 16 colours only. Just follow the guide.

When this is done, you will have about 20 stable fps at all times (except when you're in cities)

It doesn't .. unless you believe that randomizing the MAC per VM makes any difference for not being banned on an IP scale...

What it DOES do, though, is providing you the convenience of running several totally different and independent sessions, within your guest-operating system.

To name a few :
Fully scalable wow sessions (memory, processors, disks, etc all virtualized)
Crashes in one session will not affect the others
You are able to minimize every session, since you push the entire VM to the background and not only WOW (so HB doesn't see that as a closed window)
Maintenance per session, even remotely and centralized via the VM Workstation and other tools
... I could go on and on

Disadvantages? Oh yeah :
Graphics need to be minimized (but who needs it when botting)
It's a memory-hog and you need a solid processor (the i7-3970X 4GHz does the trick)
Best to be used with either RAID5 (striping) and/or solid state disks
... just to name a few.

But you will be able to conveniently run many/many/many WOW sessions.

All in all, I'd say it's worth the investment.

I run 3 hb + wow in one vmware virtual machine. And it runs fine.
Have you enabled 3d support?

btw: if you run *** to other countrys you will get banned. Blizz now bans *** Users. Idk what happens if you run a *** in the same country.

You risk being banned as well.
If you use a *** that's on their shitlist, you're screwed.
They hit me with a permaban for it, last year.
 
Safe botting is an oxymoron. Anything you do may make you a little safer, but nothing you can do can ensure you won't be banned.
 
Ok here we go. VMWare botting IS possible. If it is more safe than normal botting....mmmh a clear maybe.
For private usage cost of VMWare and OS licenses + hardware which can run several instances of VMWare is to high.
For commercial botting it might make sense in several cases.
Better in my opinion are small box PCs that can run 2-4 WoW and Bot Instances and a bigger machine to maintain all of those boxes.
Its often more powerful and does not cost much more.

VMware works best with v8.x and above. Currently we have VMWare 10 which has brought a huge increase in 3D Performance. Not like a single machine but best 3D Performance I've seen so far in virtual machines.
Install Win8.1 in the VMWare, reduce all details in WoW and make sure each WoW instance has 2GB Memory minimum.

Pro Tip:
Install small OS and WoW Instances on your VMWares. Create a shared folder outside of the VMWares.
Make sure WoW Addons and HB is installed on the share folder. Symlinks or directory junction redirects should work here.
Shared folder should be on a SSD.

Pro Tip2:
Aboves shared folder can also be redirected to a local dropbox folder meaning if you update locally your HB and WoW Addons/Settings you can automatically sync it to another location. (This is how I do it!).

Pro Tip3:
VMWare = Memory Memory Memory! There is never enough.
If you think 32 or even 64GB are a waste of money then I agree for private usage but not for a commercial setup.
I am using a software to have a permanent ram disk which starts up each time I start my system. Within this ram disk I have the latest release of HB and several other things I need for botting.
Let's call it the botram-toolkit :) (Archicrypt RamDisk)
Even if you use a SSD this brings a huge increase in speed if you run >4 bots in parallel.

Pro Tip4: Window Management if you use several small boxes to bot.
I am using Display Fusion to move windows around and let them start on a dedicated screen and position.
In addition Multiplicity which lets me use my Keyboard and Mouse on another PC in the same network like I am on the same machine.
If you run several PCs and have several Monitors, this way you only need the control PC to have displays, keyboard and mouse. Rest are small stupid bricks :)

What do you think about a Commercial or Pro-Botting area here on the board? Would it make sense? Are there enough people interested?
 
Theoretically, P R O X I E S / VMWare may ease peoples troubled minds. Personally, I run one IP, a static IP, on fiber optics. I run multiple bots. Never get banned on more than 1/10 that are currently active. So I don't buy into the whole ordeal. I think it's a waste of time and money.

I think most of the pro's aren't going to share too many of their tips and would get upset at others for making pro tips public. If perhaps there were a way to make it selective in who could view it, it would be a great addition.
 
i use vmware since ~sept 2013
never had any bans

the thing u should be main concerned is HD IO - i run 7 bots right now but can only handle that io load by using multiple SSDrives

Run HB in a RAMDisk and if you have enough RAM, also run WoW in it ^^
 
My bots are running on a virtual machine, I don't have any issues what so ever.
Considering upgrading to the newest VMWare though, currently using v9.

My setup:

Is VMWare better that Hyper-v that is build in to windows 8, or are the function the same ?

that Ramdisk thingy's a nice hint - ty for that.
wow performance is fine for me tho.
i'd recommcomend winxp instead of win8.1 btw - u can save an enourmous amount of ram

hyperv sucks at 3d emulation

Stay away from RAID5!
RAID5 is probably the slowest RAID level of all and should only be used for read-only archives.
Also, entry level RAID5 capable controllers are "fakeraid", unless you pay +$500, which means that your CPU will have to do all the work.

The best RAID level and also the most expensive is RAID10, the only downside I can think of is the cost (you need more drives).
