I wanted to see if anyone else runs RB off a network samba share drive between computers and if it works out ok?
This whole thing with unblocking .dlls and so, updates to RB, Plugins etc, not to mention SVN updates. Just wanted to see if it works out ok and if there would be anything special extra I would need to do?

I also was curious if this would cause any extra lag or delays? (Aside from the router and share folder going down) Thanks!

If it's any help, I've run RB through Dropbox (technically the files are downloaded though) and an external hard drive before. I'm sure that a samba share would be the OK.

Yea dropbox makes it local. I plan to want to run it off a NAS between 2 computers, since I heard 1 RB folder can support 2 client loads. Just would make life easier.

Now unblocking files... Long as I do it once, it should be fine for whichever PC runs it later I hope?

So after some learning last night. I learned this wouldnt work with 2 PCs trying to share the one samba folder because of the compiled assemblies clearing that is needed. Plus cant run RB on 2 diff PCs from the same 1 folder.

Place the rb install on your samba, then create local directories, copy the executables etc to each local machine, use ntfs junctions to junction the samba plugins, routines, and settings
