Using bots to be illegal in Korea - a maximum of five years in jail

ummm..

ok so there's rapists, killers, men who tinkle little boys private parts..

and there're seriously going to put someone in prison for botting when there is far more worst crimes... next it will be punishable by death! or cut of your cock or something.

I can just imagine being in jail for this, get a cell with a murderer or rapist and then go have your dinner, mingle a bit..

"I killed 2 guys with a shotgun, what you in for??"
"Botting on diablo 3, police came and arrested me and found evidence of 23 mill gold on my account"

Holy shit korea is fucked up

ok so they get arrested the real question is do there accounts still get banned? lol

Do any of you pay taxes for the money made out of botting? No? Well, now...

S.Korea is just 5-7 years ahead of EU and US regarding virtual goods trading.

Well in the US they have to bribe 5 senators before they can get this passed.

That could actually be pretty scary. Imagine if when your bot was detected, blizzard sent all your details to the police for them to come pick you up. However, my guess is it won't really be enforced, and most people will probably just purchase game time from local shops and use vpns.

Could be it's more aimed at stopping bot developers in korea, or merchants selling bots to koreans. Don't really know the details though.

well online games in korea seems the same as football (fussball) in europe.
We take them to tail if the take drugs or manipulate games, so they do the same with their sports...

People would care if those laws were actually enforced.
Often, they are not.
