So I've been a member now for 5 years... Recently updated my pc and sold my laptop which had the bot that I would just update back with the click of a button... come to find out my password for buddyauth isn't the same as my log in for this forum so I tried to get the password changed... BUT I DONT have access to the email anymore that I signed up with on buddy auth and I get this bullshit email today saying this:
Joro (Bossland GmbH) Jan 21, 11:31
Unfortunately without the payment information sent by us and without access to the registered email address we're unable to proceed with additional help, sorry.

I don't have the information for the simple fact its going on 6 years since I bought this damn product and have used it ever since. I don't know the credit card because it was my parents card back then and was paid through paypal... ITS AS EASY AS LOOKING AT THIS THREAD AND LOOKING UP MY OLD THREADS AND CHECKING THE IP ADDRESS AND SEEING IM ON THE SAME DAMN IP ADDRESS to prove this is me and I WANT MY KEY FOR THE BOT I PAID A LIFETIME FOR.

Hi, Ownage4j00,

Sorry about your careless handling of credentials. But, Bossland GmbH—like ANY company—will require you to show proof of ownership of the product you purchased when making requests like this. Without such checks in place it would be easy for any user to steal any other user's account.

IP addresses are not unique, and can easily be changed and spoofed. Even the courts do not recognize IP addresses as tied to a particular individual. Alternatively, you could easily be an Ex or former roommate looking to seek revenge on someone. The policies are there for safety for all.

This is a problem that can only be worked with the Bossland GmbH 'front office' ([email protected]). The forum moderators have access to neither a user's account details, nor the tools to manipulate them. Since it will be impossible to resolve this problem in the forums, we're closing this thread. You will need to seek help with the Front Office.

One other place to look...
Surely you made a backup of the laptop before wiping the disk, and selling it. No? If so, your key is probably lurking there somewhere.

cheers,
chinajade
