Updater.exe.bak

When I launch my Archebuddy it downloads the updates but then closes and the updater.exe becomes updater.exe.bak. When I change the extension back to exe it launches and starts downloading but then closes and changes back to updater.exe.bak. I've tried a fresh install and that does the same thing.

How can I fix that?

It seem to be an error either on write or access. Hard to say since we don't get any output on the error.

I have the issue on a machine, but if i copy updater.exe in a new folder and run it it will often download and launch fine.

I did double check file permissions on the folder and updater should have full write / read access. I can only assume theres an issue when it tries to open a file to do the checksum for it, since even a clean updated install (ran in another folder then copied over) will get the "Download updates. Fail." error (even tho it has nothing to download)

The repack from https://www.thebuddyforum.com/arche...226136-updater-exe-bak-error.html#post2052009 fixed it for me. Altho this virtual machine has no antivirus so it seem strange that it would be AV related.
