Unorganized information hard to sift through.

From a new user perspective, as which I am for this, I am not new to using bots for other games. This bot caught my eye to help me do some farming on D3, but I'm having problems setting it up to even work with ANY profile I look up. What would be nice is some default profiles that are basic bare bones and would work without that many plugins or what not. Or perhaps have all the authors state what plugins if any are needed to work their profiles or what state the game needs to be in. DO I need to start the game or will it start it for me? Will I have to move the character or will it do it for me. I had it working partially at one point but going back and reading what I can figure out is just.. TOO MUCH. I read through the FAQ, figure I had the bot working order and went to pick out a few profiles to try and run with it, now I can't even get the Bot's Combat Routine window to pop up. in either beta or normal release.

Perhaps it's a clash of plugins... I did use your support forum to use the updater to get items needed to run it. At any rate, without some real logical way to set it up and creditable Profiles by your developers to include be it community made or dev made just to make it usuable upon download. I can't get anyone's profiles to work on it. I would like to ask for my money back, even if its just a 3 day trial I don't expect to spend 3 days trying to set it up if it's going to be this complicated.

Well after toiling with things for a while, and my mind completely set on not being defeated, it seems I figured out a few things and this post might be useless now. Currently using beta with Funky's plugin and rift profiles. I had some issues with the game teleporting and closing mid rift, greater rift too, and I assume it was a gold issue per set time, so seeing now if it clears an entire rift, if it does who knows, I might be paying for a sub. Some more organization would still be appreciated, Maybe a sticky for First time Set up, Step By Step with a Working example to go off of.

You should start by saying what profiles you have tried, and what you are trying to do with the bot specifically.

Are you trying to farm a particular act? Adventure mode? Bounties?

Trinity and Quest Tools are pretty much all you need to get started, get them from the plugin section. Try the Rift profile by rrrix

I use the act 4 zerg from the above when just wanting to stock up on rift keys.

When you find a profile you think you might want to use, read at least the last 4 or 5 pages of the thread relating to it, that will give you a bit of an idea of the current state of that profile, if its working with current version of game/bot. There were profiles that were amazing 6 months ago, but now just dont work or are not viable because of the shifting nature of the game/bot.

That should get you started at least.

Well your first post ain't untrue. Demonbuddy is a lot harder to use than it should be. I just started using it as well, while I figured it out rather fast it still isn't easily navigated. I was very unsure of which profiles were outdated or not, and had to read through entire threads to find ways to make certain profiles work and certain combat routines for classes. Authors need to update their original posts or maybe have mods do it for them with the relevant information, or just remove things that are not being updated anymore. But you can't expect too much from community devs either, since they are doing it on their spare time. If I paid for a profile I'd demand it being updated and working flawlessly. I come from WoW using Honorbuddy for a few years, which is ridiculously easy to setup and use in comparison. Which I suppose is understandable. It has a much bigger community with more community developers and a few buddydevs working on it day and night. On the plus side for Demonbuddy noone is demanding money for their profiles!

Right, I was trying to find a good Izual profile to get the plan to drop, but that set up was hanging me up and then I was like fine, I just need something to run the rift stones I have on me and hopefully stock up on some Greaters for later. I found Funky's at https://www.thebuddyforum.com/demonbuddy-forum/combat-routines/137127-funky-bot.html and did as you said anyways, read through to see if it was out of date pretty much and seemed good. I had hang ups where the bot would start a rift, then half way in teleport home and close the game. Took me a bit to figure out how to stop that, (gold drop to 0 so it quit checking how much gold I was bringing in per) I figured out that my problem with the battle options not popping up was because I figured the game had to be started to read what my set up was. Turns out that detective work paid off, and now I got a working bot atm. I read over the FAQ and stuff, just seems like the Vital information for setting up keeps getting buried in the content from others, which is good and bad in it's own right. After you know how to set it up, the start up is kind of moot point. Either way appreciate you two paying mind to my thoughts on this. I will continue my trial run of this bot and hopefully if things go right, you'll have me aboard full time as a user. Thanks again for the replies and happy farming.

I try and make the Questing bundle basically include everything one needs to load a profile and press "Go".

Oksehode's RiftBot compilation is another great example where it's basically plug and play.We all started from nothing.
