What is bother me is that sentence "Our goal is to provide a fair, fun and legitimate game experience for everyone."
What the hack are they talking about. This game is unfair like no other. I live in suburban from small town (in my region there are three pokestops and maybe 5 pokemons to catch). So I decided to use bot which give me the opportunity to get there where I couldn be.
So they are talking about fairness? Be fair, they are far far away from fair gameplay.

Fun, they are joking right? 5 pokemons, yes this is really fun, so much fun that I deleted the game twice prior I find out about the bots!

Legitimate, well we can discuss this, if I can play like someone in Central Park then I stop botting, but for now, I have no other chance. Oh wait the minute I can take a vacation, pay for ticket to NY, pay a taxi to Central Park and pickup all pokemons, visit all pokestops in train in all pokegyms. But who ensure me that I will not get banned?

So first you repair your software that everyone will have the same chance, then we could talk about fairness.

The thing that I really don't like is that they have too many false positives. They are ruthless, but stupidly so. No respect for collateral damage.
Botters know that accounts that has botted WILL inevitably get shut down. So I don't think anyone is whining about getting a botted account sacked.

The problem comes when people have spent money on a legit account and they get banned because they are within 6 degrees of a bot account.
Using this type of banning method is just crazy. And because I have a proxy to protect my information for other things on the phone, if I log on with PoGo while on proxy, my device id will probably get flagged as a bot account cause it's likely used by botters even if account itself was 100% legit. (And now I have to wipe my phone to get a new device id, and the average user probably doesn't even know about device ids let alone how to get a new one.)

I know botters are trying to show less of a footprint so that they stay below the radar, but it seems like the only way Niantic will stop this childish way of ban hammering a whole section of IPs is for them to get burned by it. It's almost like people need to get a bot on to as many public networks as possible... bot carelessly so the whole range gets banned, so that anyone one that touches that network will also get banned. (Imagine if they saw the starbucks wifi network as dirty and banned everyone remotely associated with it. That'll be certainly be interesting!)

Who knows, maybe this will generate enough false positives that they will have to revisit the way that they are banning.
Legit users are spending lots of money into a game, and if they get caught in this type of ban and not getting access to the game, they are less likely to throw in the towel and say oh well, I deserved it.
They'll probably overload their servers asking WTF is going on?! and when they don't get a response (Just 50 ppl afterall), they'll just get a refund.

Exactly! I live in a remote part of Australia with 2 pokestops and 2 towers in a 50km radius. If i lived in the city I would have access to hundreds on my door step. Thier "fair for everyone experience" is BULLSHIT!

Methods of cheating, unfortunately, are limited only by cheaters’ imaginations, but include at a minimum the following: using modified or unofficial software; playing with multiple accounts (one account per player, please); sharing accounts; using tools or techniques to alter or falsify your location; or selling/trading accounts."

Multiple account is a form of cheating according to Niantic. Therefore, they don't need to prove you are a botter. They only need to prove you own multiple accounts to justify the ban.
I suppose not many of you actually read the guidlines and/or ToS.

And since you are a repeat offender with close to 10 accounts banned, it is to no surprise Niantic gave out a much harsher punishment.
Still though, banning IP or device is a very unwise and desperate anti-cheating method for Niantic.

As I mentioned before, they have ALREADY generated false positives, I work for an ISP and they have blacklisted 90%+ of all our free hotspots, I've seen starbucks locations blacklisted... its how my legit account was banned, for accessing it on a public wifi hotspot!

And I suppose you are being blinded to the facts as well.. I didnt start creating multiple accounts until my legit account was banned. The alt account for botting was never accessed on my cellphone, I never continued to access my legit account on my personal wifi... There was ZERO justification for banning my legit account. My crime? Accessing a public wifi hotspot. No one is b*tching about botted accounts being banned, its when legit accounts are caught in the crossfire, my friend, never bots, only owned one account, banned, for accessing a public wifi access point. Let me guess, her fault too? My son's account in ontario, banned for accessing a public wifi account, his fault too? tell me, what TOS did THEY break? We are complaining about the ip blacklists, the wrongful banwaves, not about getting caught breaking rules.

The whole point is, of this thread to be honest is to fuel some fire into them. Right now Niantic is too busy negotiating with India in regards to the release there and by the way the market there equals to north america and half of europe probably in terms of profits.

As stated above, they got no rights to ban multiple accounts what if my gf used my acc on her phone? what if I share my wifi with others? what ifs........... For those who spend money into this game should get a response unless its run by mafia which i dont doubt.
