Underwater herbing

Just bought gatherbuddy and am learning all the in's and outs. I love it, but I am finding underwater herbing (stranglekelp) a tad difficult, as it seems to go out of aquatic form on my druid alot and end up drowning. Is there a way to keep your druid in aquatic form the whole time? Or should I level a shammy and use underwater breath?

I am also finding the program getting confused with navigating up and down underwater trenches/cliffs. Anyone else with this issue or do I just need more practice setting up better paths?
