today i recived a phonecall from blizzard and my 6 month's ban was gone.

I sent them a letter by post. This is what i wrote to them ;

Send this to their legal team.



To whom it may concern,

I have been incorrectly applied with a six month suspension to my World of Warcraft account, on the grounds of 'exploiting game mechanics' and 'violating the terms of service'. Apparently, the 'proof' is that third party applications of a malicious nature were running in conjunction with my World of Warcraft client.

This information is incorrect. According to the EC Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC), a data subject (in this context, I, the end user of the account being disputed in question) may request that evidence is supplied to him or her.

Upon a data subject's request, a data controller (in this context, you, Blizzard Entertainment) must provide all relevant information that is being processed. If information is being processed, written information must be supplied to the data subject, including:

What information is being processed,
The source from which it was collected,
Why the processing of this information is taking place,
To which recipients or groups of recipients the data is disclosed to.

I expect prompt acknowledgement of this request within 3 days, and for all information held by Blizzard Entertainment and associated companies to be forwarded to my email address in a timely fashion.

If you are gonna use this, you must be from Europe. You are able to demand any vitual data about you be provided to you , and deleted.

nobody is going to believe this in any way without it.
 
What? I cannot. The letter was sent for 3 days ago, they got it today. And they called me. I dont care if you dont belive me or not. Was just thinking if somone else in Europe got use for this. So what you do is up to you :)
 
The called you and didn't send an email? This goes outside every consistent manner in which blizzard has behaved in the past. That address has been provided to basically everyone in the EU who appealed their ban. I don't know what people get out of doing this, but.... i takes all kinds to make the world go around :)

People with 12 posts who suddenly care so much about the HB community? lol come on dude... can you even blame people for doubting you?

I am playing on EU server from France, will try it anymay, i have nothing to loose to try !
 
He is right guys. You have to have a EU account. I know of 4 friends all got unbanned pretty much the same way he did. It doesn't work on US accounts though
 
That is correct. I did not recive any email, just a phonecall. They will send me letter by post i belive. I tried to contact legal team by phonecall and email, but i had to write to them by hand. If you want to belive it or not is up to you. My amount of post doesnt mean i do not care. I have been using HB for many years.

I am sorry for sharing this with you. Why would i even bother type down all this to you, if it was just bullshit.

dont even comment if you dont belive, no one is forcing you to do this. Just wanted to share.

bro, if this is true, 100 k accounts, assuming that is eu could be unbanned by writing a letter.

and blizzard can never ban another account again in the eu, cause we will write, a letter.

sorry for the doubt, but i just dont believe it.

Who cares if silly kids on the internet believe or not.

It is common sense Blizzard, that less than 1% of the whole banned players would care to hire attorney to write them a legal note and send it by mail on the formal address of Blizzard.

And this do not stop Blizzard to ban the persons for something else, just a day later, like gold-selling or anything around. They do not lose anything in this process, just having positives, a lot of positives.

No need to hire a attorney to write this note to blizzard, but like everyone else is saying no proof no dice, several ways to prove this though just need to be creative.
 
I posted a "reply" i got from a unban ticket on the forums once. It was Perm banned the next day.

They read here too, I'd change up some wording if i was you.

You're kidding right? Come on man, you think nobody with wads of disposable income has been banned by blizzard and had lawyers involved?

Also, he didn't hire a lawyer. He sent a letter to an address and has now miraculously been unbanned via a direct phone call from blizzard with no email.


Send us a screenshot of the ban email and a screenshot of the same account as active then I'll eat my words as long as the proof is undeniable. If you care enough to share this story and want to help show people it is real, don't expect other "innocents" like yourself to invest their time and money because of words on a computer screen by a stranger.



EDIT: I also wanted to add the one thing I keep forgetting to throw out there. If according to EU law Blizzard has done something wrong and therefore started unbanning accounts of people who use snail mail and phones.... then they would be admitting legal culpability. Not a chance friends. NOT A CHANCE :)
