Uldum really sucks... 48H Ban

do you get a GM whisper before the ban?
afaik HB is undetected, so they have to guess you're using a bot and (maybe) try to "test" you per whisper?

I had ShutUp active and in the log is no whisper. so i got no whisper from noone during the 4 hours.

a ban is always perma. the other "thing" is a suspension. but i never heard of a 48h suspension. afaik there are only 72h suspensions.

My friends and I call it a ban even if it is only 3 hours, but for you i can call it 48 hours suspension

This is something that really scares the shit out of me. I mean, he obviously got no whispers or whatsoever, so I wonder how and why they banned him, was it because of the profile? because of how long he botted? because he got stuck somewhere? Or because somehow HB is detected and we all gonna end up getting banned? Not knowing why they are banning people like this in uldum makes me unable to counter it.

But he did say that he was using ShutUp and that there were no logs of any whispers. I bot so I can avoid repetitive tasks (specially mine/herb) but I'm always 100% of the time reading a book or something in front of my pc, I also make my own profiles, specially on crowded places like Uldum. So in my case, the only reason I'd get banned is if HB is somehow detected, so that's why reports like "I was not AFK, got no whispers, etc", like this one, makes me a little worried about the banhammer

I was a GM (in a different MMO, Everquest) for a few years. I can tell you this: a GM most likely will NEVER whisper you to see if you are botting. All they have to do is go invisible and teleport directly to your current coordinates and watch you for a few minutes. If a determination that you are most likely botting cannot be made from observing you then you might receive a whisper OR you may get teleported to some random zone to see how you react to the sudden teleportation.

In EU the normal procedure is:
- 3 hour suspension (only for minor things like AFKing in BG)
- 24 or 48 hour suspension
- 72 hour suspension
- Ban.

Hardly anyone gets banned for a first offense here.

All the popular area's I know of have been filled with players reporting anyone who beats them to a node in hopes of getting them kicked off the game so they can have it all. The GM's then get a report on you and once you run into a tree or side of a building botting or not.. thats proof enough to take action on you and add a point to the blizzard ban board so they can keep their job.

It depends on the server.
All it takes is one person to say in general chat "x is botting, plz report him" and bam!

Higher pop servers have higher chances of having this kind of ppl, but at the end of the day, it's all luck.

The randomness of it makes it obvious that blizzard doesn't particularly watch uldum. It just happens to be the best zone so most human players go there and chances of getting reported go up.

from my point of view, farming Twilight Highlands is just "a bit" worse for a bot, and "much" worse for an human player. Expect a much lower % of human players at TH, and less reports than uldum. As a software bot really does not care if the zone is full of trees or annoying elementals that cast a *&$*&( spike from the ground.... it is just OK to bot TH and leave uldum to legit people, or careless botters that want assume the risk of an uldum ban.
