Two IP adresses, one computer

hey there,
I have currently 5 bots running on a powerful desktop pc (1800 euros early this year).

At some point I ran 12 accounts, then I got IP banned all of them and I stopped botting for six months. I would like to create another team of five now that we can have mop in battlechests.

Now i moved to a new flat, brand new IP. I will not have more than five accounts on same IP and I am looking for solutions. I heard about vmware but I don't know where to start ...

I have a Astrill V.P.N. subscription ending in December, i think I could use it in a virtualized windows to get a new IP ? Is that the right idea ?
So I have to virtualize a whole system ? I am a bit lost and I don't think I know what I am talking about ^^'

Some help or links would be appreciated

I think it will be fine, i have 4 account, 1 main and 3 bot, i also use v p n each account stick with 1 ip, and i dont have any problem until now :D and pls dont judge me for my bad english :)
 
So tell me how you know you were IP banned? Was the account information on the accounts the same? Did you pay for the 12 accounts with the same payment method? Were the 12 accounts tied together through grouping? Did you have them all in the same guild? Did you trade mats between the characters? Did you deposit and withdraw mats between accounts?

All those are possible ways blizz tied the accounts together, and from looking at it more closely, IP and MAC addresses would be one of the very last ways blizz ties an account together.

Seriously, have you lost less than 100 accounts? Then you probably have no experience botting.

actually ryftobuddy is spot on.

people assume they know why they got all their accounts banned, but i doubt it was by IP address.

to the OP, and i am not being mean, if you have to ask for detailed help on how to set VMware up, you should probably not do it.

Do you have a shred of proof that they do? It goes both ways.

I already named about 6 different ways they could've tied the accounts together. What have you brought to the conversation?

Lol at this thread. Bunch of people who have botted on 3-10 accounts and then claiming to be experts.
 
Since you seem to be some type of amazing, pro, better than everyone else botter, please tell us exactly how Blizz bans. You seem to know and you seem to have all the answers. Oh, and btw, bragging that you've had hundreds of accounts banned doesn't mean you know anything. In fact, it probably means exactly the opposite.

And you also have no idea how many accounts anyone in this thread has or runs at the same time.

It would actually probably be better if you just stopped talking all together...

I don't want to enter in the debate but I am going to answer your questions.

No mails between accounts, keys bought on G2A.com, they were in a group once to level in dungeons, but that was weeks ago. There were in a guild as 200 other members. They connected at different times of the day. The only one who withdrew mats from guildbank was my banker who never got banned.

It just happens that the only one who did not get ban was on a svn on another computer (everything else was the same)

Ultimate proof : I created new accounts, they were banned before starting using them.

how can u have accounts banned before even using them P unless your saying there wasnt max lvl or somting like that but if u was botting lvling them then u was botting still.

yeah they could have...but you dont know. just because you have 8 reasons doesnt mean that theres a specific order how they look into the accounts.
 
if you really want to have multiple ip´s, you can do it with software like proxyfier even if they are running on the same windows (then you need multiple wow installations so you can setup the rules on the path of the process) you can setup rules so every wow runs over another proxy/ip.

but i also heard that the wow client can send hardware id´s of you cpu which can´t be faked not even with a vm (afaik) so it might be also strange when 10 clients with different ip´s got that in common.
or when all bots everything get online at the same time offline and so on...
or when these accounts never interact with other ppl except of your other bots
or when a account just farm herbs no pvp / pve content...

there would be plenty of ways where you can filter / get possible bots, but i think if you don´t overdo it the only problem should be if you get reported by someone nowadays (since the hb team does a really great job whith tripwire and the client itself).

and if i think about some universitys i have been on hunderts of ppl all having the same ip playing games....
i only got banned once and that was because of stupidness using a beta profile unattended and i was running 4 hours against the pillar on the shrine and got reported by a player.

And go ahead and show me where I said that what I gave was the exact order they check in. If you go read my post, you can see I clearly said "I'M PRETTY SURE"

it's easy to proof....
if u have an authentificator, each time you change your PC, Bnet ask for your authentificator number...
it means that Bli surely scan ip, mac adress and may be hdd serial....

are you sure it is based on that? If you login to Bnet and successfully connect, then DELETE WOW and BNET, and then re-install, it will prompt for Authenticator again. That tells me there is a token and not necessarily something stored on their server. The token may be calculated based on IP, MAC & whatever but that doesn't mean the info is on Blizz servers. I am not saying it is or isn't, just that you assume you know what is going on but there are alternative explanations.

But there's always logic....

IP addresses don't designate unique computers, nor unique physical locations, nor unique persons. Lots of educational facilities only have one external IP addres, as have companies, student housings etc.
Even worse; a lot of ISPs use dynamix IP addresses due to IP address shortage. IP lease times are going down.

So to conclude:
- An IP can relate to a lot of different persons
- One person can have different IP addresses

THAT is why Blizzard doesn't use IP addresses to ban people. Because it's a useless practice which doesn't make any sense.
