trying to decide if I shall buy HB...

main question is will it be safe if I only run it 6-8 hrs per day, solo only? how safe is HB anyway? what do I need to know or better do when I running it? If its like 50% chance i will get banned then i have fear, if its around 10% then I take the chance. thx
 
Botting is always risky there is no % chance. You either get caught or you don't. If you value your account then don't bot, simple.

Its not safe, it wont ever be safe, if you use it, expect to be banned at some point.
 
It also depends on what you're botting.
While it's safe to assume you will eventually be banned - depending on what you're botting will heavily influence how fast that ban will come.

Questing from 1 to 100. I've personally never received a ban from this.
Bans with questing are very rare, so it's generally considered the 'safest' thing to bot.

Things like farming battlegrounds are a lot more risky since you're practically face-to-face with other players.
 
I've only so far gotten caught in the banwaves, if HB devs actually managed to patch it up so it's no longer detected (One can only speculate regarding this, sadly). You ought to be fine as long as you don't bot crazy stuff; such as battlegrounds.
 
so mainly when botting for garrison and daily quests and fishing will unlikely to receive a ban?
 
Lads, all follow good practices.

Botting your garrison everyday is fine; BGBuddy farming will get you banned. Read the forums.

I'm sure one of us will make a massive post with good and bad practices soon. All of the old posts are a tad outdated and lack the detail the new users need.
 
If we ignore the HB detection debate.. the rule to follow goes as the following:

Less integration with players = less chance of ban.

The exclusion of that rule is instance farming.. I'm not sure how blizzard does it, however once you reach a certain threshold of instances per hour you seem to get flagged.. once your flagged a simple port in from a GM to observe you for 5mins with some creative movement of your toon.. and bam your account is banned for life.

Doing Timewalking as a DPS (waiting for DPS timers) I seem to have not passed that threshold- as I botted the entire duration of that event with out stop- and none of my accounts go banned.

BG botting is stupid.. Personally your a moron if you bot in BGs.. but that's just my opinion - however bot in BGs' enjoy your ban..

Now moving on to HB detection..

If HB gets detected again (its not on a good track record atm).. it wont matter what your doing.. You will get a 6month ban like the rest of us :)

2 ban waves in many years when you are in legal battle with blizzard is a very good track record. also to not mislead you should also tell ppl that what caused those banwaves has since been fixed

Actually its 3, in less then 12 months .. Considering it was 0 in 7 years... up until 12 months ago... No that's not a good track record.

And the only thing that's been fixed was that particular method of detecting HB.. Just like that last particular method was fixed the fist ban wave over 6 months ago..

Dont get me wrong I love HB (Best on the market) how ever its not in a good place at the moment.. Whilst I bot for cash and dont care about bans as long as I'm in the green.. I do not suggest casual botters use it at the moment, its just not worth it to funnel gold back into you main- its far better money spend on just buying gold, or buying the items you want.

uhm no you need to get your facts straight!! :) especially if you want to advise new customers. they recently fixed what caused the may/december banwave. its really stupid to say there was 3 because the 3 is the time the tripwire worked and only ppl in 12 hour window got banned! that is not a wave since many of us did not get banned :D

right now HB is as "safe" as it was during the 0 in 7 years, to say different is just scare mongering
 
Typically the ban waves either occur when HB beats blizz in court or just before xpacs (6 months before typically)

The trip wire didn't work if it went off 12 hours later .. there was hundreds of users if not thousands of users banned for that 12 hour window you where talking about.. that's a banwave.. You have been a member for 3 months.. Just go sit down before you fall over.

meh , i'm going to try and funnel gold back onto my main, i don't BG bot I just farm gold. Been thinking of a few ways to do it.

no it is not suicidal since they fixed what caused those 2 banwaves (there was not 3 if you understand basic facts)

the tripwire didnt go off "12 hours later", it went off as soon as it detected the change, but they do not activate it for all users at once. they explained this but you are another person that cant read the information made available to you and prefer to blindly jump on the bandwagon of hate. a few hundred bans is nothing when it saved probably ten times that

Hate ?? when did I say I hate HB ?? I love it I have 40 HB licences LOL.. I'm just someone that has been botting with 30+ accounts for over 10 years.. and know when and whens not a good time for a casual botter to bot.. and the moment.. HB has got too much heat on it.. Blizzard it currently taken lead of this cat a mouse game (bossland had it for 7 years) I'm sure in time bossland will work it out and start winning again.. only time will tell but at the moment we are all pussy food.

This isn't a statiscal study buddy. There is no where near enough data; so its all based on feels. The Feels of the members of the community who have actually botted on a mass scale for multi expansion are probs more likely to have a better gauge.
