As the manager/primary maintainer of Trinity, Community feedback is important to me. While I may not always reply, I do read every single post, and take each idea seriously. I also try to prioritize things by the more posts I see on the same problem or idea.

In trying to think of a better way to do this - collect your ideas and feedback - then prioritize as needed - I would like to try something new, where a simple Forum Poll wouldn't work - since I want the ideas to be sourced from the community, ranked, and ordered in terms of most important to least important.

I setup a community space on Reddit that I'd like to try:

http://www.reddit.com/r/DBTrinity/

The concept is:

  • Create a post, either a text post with your idea, or provide a link to a forum post that you think should be prioritized
  • If you don't have any ideas, you can upvote or downvote others ideas and bug fixes
  • It can be a bug
  • It can be an idea for a new feature
  • The more detail provided, the faster it will likely get resolved, fixed, or created
The reason I chose reddit is because it's anonymous and free. Anyone, in any country, can sign up for an account - all you need is an email address (which won't be shared!) Read more about reddit.

You can also use this thread for feedback on this idea (discuss using Reddit for community feedback).

Please don't use this thread for Trinity ideas themselves - put those in the proper place (for example, in a Trinity release thread, or in your own thread!)

cheers,

rrrix

man, only 2 posts in and we already can't follow directions lol. Somebody should canonize you rrrix for even attempting this.

Can't say I didn't try

You guys totally missed the point, and obviously didn't read anything in the first post.

must i register to post something at reddit ?

ps: dont like the idea to split forum (but maybe i still dont get what you want :) )

Yep, registration is required - but it doesn't take any personally identifiable information, especially if you use a fake email address (it doesn't do email validation either)

Reddit allows users to vote on multiple items - where a Forum Poll only allows a single vote on a single item.

Reddit also allows users to submit their own items - where Forum Poll choices are purely controlled by myself.

If the forum had these two capabilities, then I wouldn't need a separate system.

Hmm you can do like bliz are on the ask the devs
Each request is made on this thread, only one request on each post.
Requests prioritized based on amount of likes.
