How do I make trinity pick up everything rate and legendary that drops and salvage the crap ones off and keep the good ones?

Not really...
Just set Trinity to pick up everything (Weapons, Armor, Legendary with level > 1), set a Trinity score for stashing items and select 'Salvage' for the trash ones. All this is done in Trinity config interface.

how do i open trinity config interface? what program do i need?

You need....Demonbuddy?
Go to Plugins tab, select Trinity, press Config.
